I had a lot of trouble with the screen on my BB Storm1, the spring loaded screen will have faults and also with the small space at the sides of the screen allows dirt and dust to get in there and cause faults.

To save your battery life make sure all of the applications are closed properly.
Make sure you go to the menu and down the bottom will be close. I have had 2 blackberry's now and i had this problem, but a blackberry rep showed me this and i only have to charge my blackberry every 2nd or 3rd day.
Try it, it will save your battery!

Asif, 24 Jan 2010I'm having problems with the battery life in this phone. Pl... moreIt's a sad fact that all blackberries have horrible battery life. Especially when used constantly like my 8330. And if you haven't already tried, turn off your Bluetooth.

            Hi Guys,

I've just recently got the Blackberry Storm 2, that I bought off ebay unlocked and have connected it on a BB plan with Vodafone Australia (Upon doing so they gave me a BB Bold 2 on the plan for free, so bonus for me lol), Vodafone Australia haven't released it here yet.

I have one issue though and I don't believe its the BB but the network provider Vodafone.

On my BB I can send MMS/PIX picture from my BB back to myself & the pic opens. I can send an MMS message to another mobile and it sends it and they receive it, however if someone sends me a MMS picture message it won't retrieve it. Vodafone are saying its the size of the picture being sent to me, but I believe this is not true and a bit silly as any other mobile can receive picture messages regarding the picture size.

Does anyone know how I could fix this or what I should be looking at to correct this issue, any help would be appreciated ;-)

            Thanks

            Craig

This was my First BB phone, when I got it and found out what I can do with it I was amazed... But sadly, I am starting to have a HATE/love relation ship with it now... It does a few annoying things:

                  1. The Screen freezes, so you can't press any buttons and so you have to turn it off and back on again which I find helps..)

                  2. Battery time is NOT as stated. if your chatter box this phone is not for you...

                  3. Internet browsing is OK, but some common websites (such as YouTube) do not work well....

                  4. A slight annoying thing is that you cant hold the phone comfortably and speak... either, the contact from your face cause the call to end/mute etc... and 2ndly you cant hold it with your chin and use your hands... (like most people do... )..

All in all. I'd say do get this phone as it has great features, but as with any high spec gadget, expect some annoying faults...

                  Hope this helps!

This phone has now been discontinued on Vodafone UK, Blackberry have discontinued the handset according to Vodaphone which were due stock but received a email form Blackberry stating its been scrapped.

I was on my 3rd set of this Storm 2 completely useless, kept dropping calls at 30 seconds, freezing screen complete failure. Vodafone did say to me the Handsets that were made in Hungary were causing a lot of problems. I tried firmware updates to no avail. Glad its been scrapped

Don't be under any illusions this is a very poor phone. It does nothing other handsets can't do better, it is clunky, hefty and relies on the BB name to get sales. The specifications are weak and the performance weaker still. Those who fall for it will soon be disappointed.

I am absolutely loving this phone. My first blackberry phone and sure it impress !!

It has everything you need as a frequent messenger. What's more is the screen keypad with the piezo-screen!!

Highly recommend for any BB service users!!

While the touch surepress touch screen was to my liking I found the UK vodafone network oversubsribed in my area (Glasgow) and no HSDPA/HSPA.

The constant signal fluctuation caused the phone to continually switch between 2G/3G and resulting in the battery draining within six hours and virtually no usage at all. I refuse to manually select 2 or 3 G as the software and network should not force me to have to.

Standard web page browsing is horrendously slow. Its horrible unless the page is mobile optimised - very surprised by that.

On the contstruction front I noticed some of the plastic at the top had came away so got clogged with dust. Not a show stopper but not what I would expect.

Camera is pretty poor. Even for a 3.2 meg camera it is crap, to the point of why did they bother.

Got a replacement which did exactly the same thing so got the contract cancelled.

Really wanted to like this phone, gutted it didnt pan out for me.

Having owned both the Storm 1 & a Storm 2 for a brief spell (Note the word brief,) i can honestly say that for all the so called advancements Rim have made the underlying absolutely rubbish battery life when making a call is this phones biggest fault.

Surf the net, send emails, text to your hearts content, but make a call and watch your battery drain before your very eyes as it sends and recieves data, and feeds interference into the call.

This is supposed to be a mobile phone after all, and having had 5 Storm 1's and yes that is 5, i tried the Storm 2 and experienced the same problems, battery drains, re-boots etc.
A phone that can do it all as long as you don't make a call, not really a phone in my opinion.
