So Crackberry have put out a video of the Storm 2 working. Still has clickscreen, laggy software, no change in camera and the OS, at this stage, is identical. Changes simply to sleeker design and build quality ONLY. How pathetic!

Its a relief to get a nice cheap little 6303...sometimes simple really is best!

Hims, 18 Jul 2009Its a great phone i love it. Guys just know your need, if u... moreYou obviously don't know what UK contracts are like - you do not get cheap internet at all. Most UK contracts do not even say how much it costs - only advertise free x number of minutes and free x number of texts (nothing about internet browsing via 3g).

The Samsung Omnia 2 seems to do all and, more to the point, much more than this handset can hope to manage. Omnia now has a specific work/ life profile. Omnia also has overtaken Storm on the screen and highly customised Winmo which now makes it useable and without a stylus. So the question is why should disatisfied Storm 1 owners, or prudent buyers given RIM a change. We have been conned once, and despite requests even the camera on Storm 2 remains about as basic as you could get. Rim are riding their reputation which is slipping faster than a draining battery on a Storm.

Hims, 18 Jul 2009Its a great phone i love it. Guys just know your need, if u... moreNo wifi means no sale to me. Wifi is several times quicker than 3G and to not have it is bad business sense. Not to mention most wifi hotspots are free or very low cost or free at home using your own router. Why use up minutes on your contract for slower connection. There's no getting round it - no excuse for no wifi. Only reason BB didn't include it was because they wanted to make the handset cheaper. They've also finally realised that users do demand wifi on a high end smart phone hence they are including it in their next Storm handset due out end of the year (too late in my opinion). Unfortunately they seem a bit behind the times and need to catch up with the likes of HTC / Samsung etc.

Anonymous, 16 Jul 2009can anyone tell me about battery lifetime on this phoneIt will just about squeeze a working day, with 3 calls and 6 sms, then it will go critical and fade. Depends on signal and settings. I would look elsewhere unless you can get a spare battery and keep it charged.

With Omnia 2 about to enter the fray, RIM need to make sure that Storm 2 works properly, (unlike Storm 1), offer decent features, by that I mean the camera, menues and some originality and get the thing to the stores with no delay.
