Angliaranger, 30 Jun 2009Hi Lee, Thanks on the feedback for Storm. Could you plea... moreStorm has applications that make it more flexible and user friendly. Blackberry Unite is a brilliant product, allowing up to 5 Blackberry handsets to communicate and transfer data with a remote computer.
Storm has the best security of all handsets available and is certified by the Department of Defense (in Australia anyway and the US.)
Straight out of the box it will let you do MMS, cut copy and paste, e-mail sync with any OS, Blackberry handsets have miniscule data usage compared to the very data hungry iPhone, 10 e-mail account sync that can be controlled via internet or handset and it also does have better battery life than the iPhone.
Sure iPhone has apps and software updates, but half the apps are pointless user created junk, the good apps (facebook etc) are built into the Storm.
Don't waste your time with an iPhone...very well marketed but severely underperforming machine.

It was below average phone prior to the 4.7.0.151 update. But now its a very good phone after this software uploading.

Early spec details of Storm 2 are coming out on the web, but not on GSMarena!! Rubbish camera, and nothing new, many are already criticising the Storm 2. I wonder why anyone would buy this phone in preference to a certain other make (which I won't promote) that has all the Storm has,(including the screen quality) with easier file handling and work and life modes, which makes it somewhat of a good alternative choice surely? Views?

I am a power business user of phones. Previously I have been using Nokia E61 and E71. I always preferred iPhone but then I decided to move to BlackBerry Storm 9500. Ever since I have bought it, I am 100% satisfied with its Business Functions, be it Internet/Mailing/Msging. What I think it lacks is WiFi. It ought to have it. But then, no phone in this world is a specific user personalized. So I guess, that is it. It is a good phone, atleast to me. Classy/Attractive/Functional and above all Unique when it comes to design and touch technology. I would recommend it strongly if you are a business power user.

This dud is coming to the end of its life. You can, and perhaps should, email RIM tell them what you expect of the new Storm to recover your confidence in the successor. There is a specific email address for this purpose, which you can get via their homepage.

Battery life is below average, loses signal when you need it most, call hang up,or pick up doesnt work all the time, Video camera records and refuses to replay files that the device recorded to begin with. The worst is when the home screen goes out and turns completely white, and takes all all day to reload back up.

When I bought BlackBerry Storm, I was looking for certain features; Stylish look, Touch technology, Network support, Internet and Document editor. Rest of the features is common in all major mobiles that we know. In fact I am a Nokia user and still own Nokia E71. I was waiting for their latest launch N97. But it is a major let down for me as its appearance is so dull as if you are holding an enhanced version of Nokia model 6070 and interface is not too impressive either. I think Nokia needs a good mobile designer. iPhone 3G is good but it has given more attentiveness on fun, entertainment and fancy things and I personally don’t consider it as a business purpose phone. I don’t know much about iPhone 3Gs as it is not available in my area yet. If you are using a touch screen, typing fast will take some time before you feel comfortable. It holds true for any mobile you purchase of this feature.
