The Arc is nice, but generally I don't see a big difference compared to the x10, I hope SE doesn't take the motorola razr route...
Was interested to get the E7, but I really don't see a reason or ned to buy. Very similar to my n97, and nokia imo doesn't have a good voice quality which is the most important thing in a phone and funny thing is no one ever asks about the voice quality in a phone, only the fancy features!
bb on the other hand has the perfect all in 1 messaging device, perfect, I'll say this 1 more time, perfect voice quality reception.

BB has not done the best job with the Torch and I was hoping that it would be something different,so I think the 9700 is by far the best BB at the moment.

one of the big differences i noticed was how much more memory the torch has over the 9780. im trying to decide between buying the bold or the torch ... can anyone comment on why i would or wouldnt need that much memory in terms of downloading apps n stuff or anything else

She is a BB fan as u already know I'm sure and has a BB bold 9700 and was fighting for the torch for months now, finally took an off from work and went to this store where she got to see the torch. But she didn't like it, so she is gonna stick to her bold 9700... will be buying her E7 instead and she seems to be excited about it :) keeping my finger crossed :p
I'm thinking of an Arc but gonna wait for other manufacturers to come up with some competitive phones. X10 is doing a great job for me so far and is my primary phone :)

hmmmmm..... All my friends hate the torch but I still got it, the keypad isn't the best compared to say the 9700 or 9780. Other than that its a different looking bb compared to other bb phones.
Voice quality is perfect, camera is good, not x10 quality, for browsing, im sticking with my x10 without a doubt. U should ask ur gf once which phone she likes because I don't see the torch different compared to the 9780 except the slide and touch feature/.
Whats your next purchase? I have lots of phones in my mind from the arc to the E7, also thinking about a win7 phone which will be a new experience.

oh you put about screen wobble it does by about 1mm or so but some say its bad workmenship..I dont think bb are ever badly made and also some give is needed else two side would grind together.

Downsides are worse battery life than bold but should get you thru a day,screen is not as vibrant due to layer installed that gives it better sunlight ledgibility.I got mine second off my mate who has gone back to bold.Now he is more email buisnessy type ,i am multimedia type.I think cam is just the same really but video record is better in torch all else is just the same.
Would i go out and buy a brand new torch if i had a bold in my hands,NO.its to big an amount to pay for virtually same device and battery is worse but still good in smartphone world.Keypad is bit trickier on torch with the chrome sides get in way of productivity
(my mates words).
I like it but do feel the britness of screen is stuck on 50% compared to other bb.
The torch is classier if you get it in white.

[deleted post]That's alright mate. I'm not a BB user. I have an Xperia X10 and I'm an android developer. But my gf is a BB lover coz she finds it less complicated than her Android phone. But just wanted to make sure is it worth the price. As for the same price you get many options from other manufacturers and even on BB you don't see much difference or variety in their stable. I held a BB torch at the mall and the slider was wobbly and screen resolution wasn't upto my expectation..and the sales guy was its an issue with his demo phone.I've been on Gsmarena for about a decade myself and know is the only place where one can look for the info about phones.
She currently has BB bold along with her android phone ...and I wanna gift it to her on our anniv :)

The torch is a better smartphone than other blackberrys with system tweaks but generally same as all the blackberrys that have gone before.I find the touch ketpad qwerty a little difficult at the edges where the silver bezel is but it not a showstopper.
I like the Torch its more bigger screen feels better and its touch is very,vey sensitive but not annoying ..The torch looks very classy i think and is the best and bold is in second place..

just got my bb torch last friday jan.22 so far i like it and love it.i hope that this would be my last cp.touchscreen is good so does the keypad accessing to inet. wow superb! i just hope that downloading more ringing tone are free? tnx
