I have been using this phone for a few months now and am extremely happy with it. I wonder how I got anything done before it. It's the perfect travel companion. Have time to kill on the plane? You can watch movies or play games on it on a large screen. Need to keep in touch with the office? Slide out the keyboard and fire away, online or offline. Need to manage your itinerary? Blackberry Travel read your emails and compiled it for you. I love how it comes delivered fully featured and doesn't need innumerable apps to be able to do anything. I also love the form factor, it's perfect, and never feels too big. The only minuses are the battery which isn't stellar (24 hours, maybe 36 hours), the rather limited appworld, and the fact that I need to change the auto-on-off times when I change the alarm time and gives you no warning of a conflict between the two. I almost missed a flight because of that.

The 9900 is crap, good companies can once in a while put out junk equipment and that's just what BlackBerry had done with the 9900, though you should read the reviews for yourself.

Anonymous, 09 May 2012Hi, I've been thinking about getting a BB phone for a few w... moreThe 9900 does have a better keyboard but the keyboard on the 9810 is still good. The 9900 has NFC, the 9810 doesn't. The 9810 is quite a bit thicker and heavier. If you like videos, the 9810 is better. If you don't watch many videos or surf the web much, and emails are your life, then the 9900 would be for you. I've been told that the battery life is better on the 9810. In the end,it all comes down to how you plan on using the phone.

Anonymous, 09 May 2012Hi, I've been thinking about getting a BB phone for a few w... moreI am a new BB user and bought 9810. It has both physical and on-scream, both are easy to use. Just regret that my location has no BIS or BES, so, limited using mails and other applications.

Hi, I've been thinking about getting a BB phone for a few weeks and I'm gonna be a first time BB user. Would you all recommend me to get a bold 9900 or torch 9810? I personally feel that the physical keyboard of 9900 is easier to type compared to the keypad of 9810 cause it's slightly smaller. However, 9810 does have a bigger screen and looks sleek.

Anonymous, 08 May 2012I would like to buy a new hp but still indecisive. HTC One ... morePlease except my apology. I was thinking about the HTC One X, not the One V. The One V does indeed have a microSD slot for storage. However, I think I hit the mark about everything else. I haven't heard anything as far as call quality and antenna strength. I know my 9810 is pretty good in those areas, though.

Anonymous, 08 May 2012I would like to buy a new hp but still indecisive. HTC One ... moreYou really can't compare the two specs wise. The HTC One is superior. It also has a much bigger screen for enjoying media and web browsing. That said, there are things the 9810 has that the HTC One doesn't. The two most obvious are the qwerty physical keyboard and the External SD Card slot. Don't understand how HTC could make that great phone and not give it an external storage slot. I may be wrong, but I believe you are limited to the 16GB internal storage on the HTC.That can get used up quick with all your media stored and all the great apps you can get. The storage issue is a definite deal breaker for me. I'm waiting to see what the Samsung Galaxy S3 is like as it can do everything and then some that the HTC One can do plus it has an external storage slot. I'm also waiting to see what the BB 10 phones are like. They will be out later this year.

Been thinking ... moreThanks for the kind words. If you are going to be a first time BB user, I think you should wait for the BB 10 devices which are coming later this year so you don't get trapped in a contract with a BB 7 phone. The 9810 is good, but the BB 10 phones are supposed to be even better. As far as the loudspeaker, GSM Arena is basically right. Both my Motorola Atrix and RAZR2 V9x are quite a bit louder. However, if you go to Media, then open Options, you can click Audio Boost. This will boost the Speaker volume a little. The 9810 isn't extremely loud, but I"ve heard worse. Anyway, hope this helps.

Mr Thullarven. Nice work you are doing here. Been thinking of buying this mobile for 2 weeks now. As a first time user of BB and indeed touch screen, do you think this would be a good choice for me to get initiated with? GSMARENA says this has poor loudspeaker performance. How poor is it? Will i have to strain my ears to hear the phone ringing? Thanks.

They are very similar spec wise except that the form factors are different. The virtual keyboard on the 9860 is OK in landscape but sucks in portrait. If you do a lot of typing and email, get the 9810. If you mostly watch videos and don't type a lot, get the 9860. The battery is slightly better on the 9810. I prefer the 9810, but that's me.
