BB has approximately 2 billion in the bank and 80 million loyal customers. they have not done anything recently because they have been in transition mode plus BB10 has been in development for the past 2 years.

The "popularity" of the phone may be low in the US, but it is very popular in a lot of other countries. I also think that the reason blackberry lost its mark in north america was all due to bad timing. Bad timing on the "good" releases they had...and REALLY bad timing on the mistakes they released.
But, bottom line, the blackberry OS and iOS systems are VERY efficient, and require less processing power than the Andriods open source OS needs...which is why this only NEEDS a duel core to run even faster than the S3...i know it sucks to hear, but its true! Look it up!

i bought it today and i must say im dissapointed. bb10 sure looks great and swipy, but there are bugs and it freezes often. also it was a bit pricy. im buying a nokia lumia next. 920 maybe.

No matter how hard BB tries it is still going to be BB and it is no match against Android or Apple. and besides these specs were so last year now the mobile generation has moved to quad core cpus and full hd displays

Although this is the best that Blackberry has released, it still doesn't match up to top end phones. The specs are good but not great.

Rogers has Z10 at $139 on a 3 year or $599 no contract. Amazing phone in my opinion! Once they complete talks with Instagram and Netflix why would you want any other phone? The 70000000 games apps the others have are good if you have no life lol
