zahra, 12 May 2014hi i didnt get it yet and i know its decent and perfect but... moreThe resolution is not bad, its not a big problem, just not as good as the Full HD displays of some other phones, especially when reading small text the difference is big. For facebook, photo and video you will not notice any difference.

AnonD-82524, 12 May 2014And about PPI thing: Guys that is completely irrelevant ... moreThats ok for photo and video, now open the frontpage of this website in desktop mode on the phones and zoom out and behold the huge difference, its so much better on Full HD, even the smallest fonts becomes readable on Z1 while the same small text is mostly a garble on the Z30.

If you still cant see the difference you need to see an optician, i guess you are far sighted (inability to focus at close objects), it comes so gradually and slowly that most people dont notice it before they get much older but the optician can tell you in a few minutes, and with reading glasses you will finally see what the rest of us see.

By the way, your sample photos are limited by the camera resolution, its not a good example.

            And about PPI thing:

Guys that is completely irrelevant and human eye cant see difference between 291 or 441 PPI. IMHO anything above 250 PPI is fine. I compared screens of Blackberry Z30 and Sony Xperia Z1 by watching same full hd pictures and full hd videos on both devices and I can tell you there is no any pixelisation or difference in screen quality between these two devices. Even more, Z30 gives me better picture than Sony Xperia Z1 because his colors are more vivid and natural. Only color which looks little better on Z1 is white. All other colors are better on Z30. Look for yourself here

This is best device I ever head and it eats iOS and any Android for breakfast! I had HTC One X+ and Sony Xperia Z1 before Z30 and I cant tell you that Z30 works waay more better faster and without any lag as Android devices does. Blackberry 10 does not need quad core processors to be better, it works faster and better than both iOS and Android with dual core on same way as Linux works faster and better than Windows with inferior hardware.

Anyone who ever goes to the Blackberry OS 10 never goes back! And you can also install any Android applications from Google Market one same way as Android devices via application called Snap.

Why Blackberry OS 10 works faster? Because it is based on QNX which is best world OS, which does not allow that some bugged application crash whole device and slow it down.

Battery on my Z30 lasts 2 days.

Take this device guys believe me it is best device on market especially if you need it for email and messaging .

higher ppi will drain a battery faster than lower ppi. the Z30 at 294 ppi pixel density is just good enough and still look very great on the super amoled screen. Don't be fool too much about higher ppi.

if u were discussing about the ppi on android or IOS phones there were no problem but its Z30!its different from all!its BlackBerry!other systems just turn around themselves.

AnonD-242234, 05 May 2014I agree higher PPI of around 400 would be nice to have but ... moreI seen that before and i dont question BB10 being the best or the many great things about Z30 but for me the PPI is a dealbreaker. Im fed up with Androids and Googles crap but a high PPI is too important for my personal preferences.

Interesting thing is that similar discussions arouse in late 2009 and early 2010 when iPhone fans claimed that noone needed the high resolution of Nokia N900 (only 267 PPI) because iPhone 3GS had more pixel density than anyone needed (165 PPI). It was, in retrospective, ofcourse insane to say that 165 was more than enough, everyone could see that the high PPI (by the standards of that time) made N900 the king of webbrowsing. Today no Apple fanboy will say that 3GS was superior to N900 but at the time they defended 165 PPI as if it was the holy grail of smartphone displays. History is now repeating itself.

Anyway, lets not go too deep into this, lets just accept that "acceptable PPI" does not mean "the best". The question is what is acceptable and for me 326 is not, but for now i can live with my Z10 at 355 even if its too far from optimal.

Also, mathematically, the PPI difference is much bigger than the PPI numbers suggest. Its natural to assume that the difference between 165 and 267 is "only" 62% (267 divided by 165) but in reality it is 162%. The correct solution is 267 squared divided by 165 squared, since PPI is a one dimensional property of a two dimensional display.

Another interesting fact is that our fovea has a resolution of 180,000 cones per square millimeter, the square root of 180k is 424, multiplied by 25.4 millimeteres per inch = 10,770 ppi. But thats just a theoretical number, the eyes focal length (highly individual) reduces that number to below 1000 for the best eyes.

"technically the screen won’t be sharper than it needs to be until you get to the 500 pixels per inch range."

Im only asking for 400 PPI, though 500 would be nice.

By the way, i admit i dont find any advantage of 440 over 326 with photos and video, the culprit is small fonts. And 8 is not small, in fact thats the default size on my Z10. I have tested it on 5 and even then 355 PPI is not bad at all, but in the web browser they easily get much smaller than that and then it easily becomes garbled. Go to desktop version of the frontpage of this site and read it on your Z30 when zoomed out and then imagine that it looks nearly perfect and fully readable on an Xperia Z with the exact same display size. Huge difference.
