Canon EOS M100 announced: an M10 successor with 24.2MP sensor

The Canon EOS M10 is getting a replacement in October – the Canon EOS M100. This mirrorless camera upgrades the APS-C sensor to 24.2MP (up from 18) and the burst mode to 6.1fps (up from 4.6fps). Another enhancement is that 1080p video can now be recorded at 60fps, though there’s no 4K mode.

This camera features Dual Pixel AF and borrows the Digic 7 processor from the M5 and M6. It can shoot at ISO ranging from 100 to 25,600 and you get a 3” screen that tilts 180° to frame your shot. There’s also Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC if you prefer to shoot remotely.

The Canon EOS M100 will launch at $600/£570 (same price as the M10 at launch) and come with a 15-45mm f/3.5-6.3 lens. A second 55-200mm f/4.5-6.3 lens can be added, but the price goes up to $950/£770. These are EF-M mount lenses, but an EF and EF-S adapter will be available for $200.
