Ive had my Dell Venue 8 tablet for 2yrs now and no complaints. I have no other to compare with but i use it every day for a few hours and charge it every other day and it still holds a good 6+ hour charge. I have dropped it from 3' chipped the plastic frame, cracked the plastic frame (not the touch screen) and it still works like new. Great touch screen, volume buttons, speaker, mic and cameras. i have not needed to use the micro card slot because i have the 32gb model and only have a few hundred pictures on it. I definately recomend this 8" tablet to everyone.

DO NOT BUY THIS TABLET!!!! i have alwaus had Dell desktops, but this is junk. Called with issues 2 weeks after I bought it and they did not care!!! Shuts off, freezes up, wont charge. From now on, I'll but Apple

I've had this for several months and it'has been a terrific tablet. Good size, good memory, good screen, good speed and good reliability. For the $110 I paid for the 32gb version, it can't be beat & I'd recommend it to anyone. I'm not sure why the h8'rs have a problem with this but so far it works great for me.
Dell tech support? Not so much. I had a problem with the device recognizing an sd card and they completely botched their advice. Turns out, it was a problem with the formatting of the sd card; they should've easily recognized. They didn't.

Dell should be ashamed of this one. Heart breaking since I am so fond of my computer's made by Dell. This tablet is junk......RCA runs circles around this tablet and they are not known as a big computer manufacturer.... are they? Back to the drawing board with this Dell!

I should consider not to buy this tab, worst as It has a lot issiues, for example volume key works automatically, moreover when it shutdown with difficulty it starts again,as well as it stucks, also sometimes screen display shows black screen!

I have one, the hardware endurance is pretty good. But it has some bugs, it hangs on time to time, I need to lock and unlock it to make it work again. Not the worst tablet, you may get something better for the same bucks.
Also Dell is not uptading to Android 5.x

I'm Owning all 3 Variants of Dell Tabs 3000 Series, Dell Venue 8 Android and Dell Venue 8 Pro Windows
and Dell Venue 7 3740

UI stopped working and so on..so I suggest people not to buy any product...
But the Real Culprit, to be punished is Intel and it's Atom Processor. Because I use HP and Lenovo Tabs too... Same Performance... We need a Good Chip maker

i have Dell Venue 8. I bought it 1 year ago and its a crap tablet. i advice no one to buy it. It keeps on hanging. most of the time whenever i use internet on it the processor stops responding. if i play any game, even candy crush, it stops responding. I have factory restored it at least 5 times during last year but it does not help it. there is no use of this tablet for internet browsing, gaming etc. its only good for watching videos or movies off line. I can't even use face book on it cause of hanging problem. i regret the day i bought this crap.

My Dells battery is empty and I am not able to charge it inspire of using different chargers. There is yellow on instead of White light during charging. I have given it 5/6 hours of charge but fail to get it charged. Can anybody help please??

Hi there,
you can install whats app via saved setup. There are three ways to do so
1: you can download setup from several websites
2: save the app on another android devise with appsaver apps and transfer it to dell venue
3: can directly send via bluetooth app sender app to your dell venue
you have to do the same on all time when need to update.

I bought Dell Venue 8 Tablet (16GB, WiFi), Black on December 2014, after 2 months it's not charging properly, battery is not completely charging even if i keep it for whole night charge.
Please tell me how to resolve it.

Go into settings, scroll down to Developer Options (if it's not activated, go to 'About tablet' and then tap several times on 'Build number', it will start counting down about becoming a developer, keep tapping until it unlocks Developer Options). Tap on Developer Options and scroll down to a section called "Hardware Accelerated Rendering" , scroll until you see an option called "Disable HW Overlays" Always use GPU for screen compositing - make sure this option is checked. This will solve the screen going black when playing video. If you restart oer shut down the tablet, this option will unchecked itself. So you will have to recheck it from time to time.

I do enjoy my venue 8 3830. The only issue is occasionally the video cuts out to black and I have to hit the power button to fix it. My main issues are with DELL. They have one of the worst customer support services I've found. A company I worked for bought 5 DELL computers. One wouldn't boot up and they outright refused to assist us unless we purchased a service package. For an OUT-OF-THE-BOX SYSTEM! We got a genius tech, who now works in a cyber terrorism unit for the government, to fix it. After calling DELL support back, they wanted to know how we fixed it. Not a chance unless they'd pay for it and I hung up. Not only have we never purchased a DELL since, except this one which was a demo tablet on sale, but we have advised other clients and companies to avoid them as well. All because of their crap service.
