YUKI93, 02 Nov 2021"...you have to always be near your phone with wired..... morewhat? you must be using some ghetto headphones then. Bluetooth headphones range is between 40 and 300 feet. (12~ meters to 91~). That just proves that you are saying bluetooth headphones are trash when you dont know much about headphones as a whole.

Same thing with Bluetooth. I would never be able to go ten steps away from my phone or else it will not detect the Bluetooth connection at all. That is why I'm going wired as it doesn't make much difference.

However I think I am going to buy this phone somewhere next year in spring. I am very interested in Fairphone and the way they approach the market.

fos, 25 Oct 2021lmao this vs pixel 6, your choice This, because in 2y, the pixel 6 will start to get a degraded battery life, 3y the phone won't last half a day, 4y it will start to crash when the battery is under 30%, 5y it will be a useless brick.

The three-year-old entry-level Pioneer headphone that I bought secondhand for $20 is still going strong to this day compared to my other TWS earbuds that no longer works.

NeonHD, 28 Oct 2021Yeah that was a very questionable and confusing decision th... moreOne theory I can assume is that Fairphone doesn't have enough expertise to provide water/dust resistance while keeping the headphone jack. After all, they only have around 100 employees to design and engineer the whole phone. So I definitely hope that Fairphone can get enough expertise to include the headphone jack again for the Fairphone 5. That will definitely live up to their motto of longevity and sustainability.

lesonoeu, 25 Oct 2021stop living like its 2015Lol, the headphone jack is still relevant in 2021 and beyond. Just because TWS is a new rage doesn't mean the headphone jack is outdated. If anything, I see more standalone sales for wired headphones than TWS headphones and earbuds. People aren't stupid enough to ditch daily essential hardware. I myself have stopped using my wireless headphone and go all wired now.

I was so excited for this, but there is no headphone jack, so it is not an option for me. I really don't want to throw away my wired headphones and dongles aren't for me (I will lose them all the time). It is unsustainable to buy a Fairhope for me. I will repair my current phone if I break it, that will also work.

Some things I really like about this phone:
- Modular design (removable back cover)
- Standard 5-year warranty (that's a long time)
- The fact it's made entirely out of recycled materials and promotes sustainability
I just don't like the fact that there is no headphone jack. Seems to go against with what they stand for.

A. User, 21 Oct 2021I love what Fairphone is doing, but I don't understand... moreYeah that was a very questionable and confusing decision that they made. Really weird decision for a company whose core values is built on integrity, sustainability and advocacy for consumer rights. I hope they realize the controversial and scandalous history behind the removal of the headphone jack.

lesonoeu, 25 Oct 2021it won't. if you buy a budgett smartphone with a basic... moreI said it *should*, not that I will. Btw budget phones have it for some wierd reason and flagships don't for soem wierd reason too. Since I'm not tired rn I can list all of stuff smartphone needs these days.
1. Hp jack ofc
2. Sd card, too, is really helpful in everything
3. Notification led, has only one use but can have more uses
4. No charger in box, most companies have charger in box but Google, apple and Samsung don't tho.
5. Getting rid of cancer punch hole/notch (my current phone is notched but it is what it is)
6. Removable batteries can be ultra usefull to prevent too much water damage.
7. Remove cancer Facebook so it stops spying on us
8. Stop starting trends plzz (cough cough apple cough)
Now that you know why, you should go and sit there in the cornor
