kisfiu, 04 Oct 2021a "fairphone" with unfair processor and unfair pr... moreSnapdragon 750G is still more than good enough if you don't play mobile games. As for the price, let's not forget that you are also paying for better workers' wages. Fairphone never uses overworked underpaid workers.

Two wide lenses and no telephoto or regular lens? Good job finding the cheapest parts as well.
"I love my new IPS LCD screen" said no one ever.

I have FP 3+ which is already too big to my taste, FP 4 is almost a mini TV. When will vendors start making smaller, not bigger phones?

Don't blame this phone! It's expensive because of the 5 years warranty, you can REPAIR it for YOURSELF and you can nuy spare parts to upgrade your phone. But 220g doesn't sound like rational material use....

I'd really love to buy one but it's literally a brick. I hate big phones and Fairphone is going to a direction that I don't really like.
FP2 was 143.00 x 73.00 x 11.00mm and 148g
FP3 was 158.00 x 71.80 x 9.89mm and 189g
FP4 is 162.00 x 75.50 x 10.50mm and 225g
Almost 2cm longer compared to FP2 and it's still very thick
The sweet point would be something like Samsung S10e did in 2019: 143 x 70 x 8 mm.
I guess I'll wait for Fairphone 5

Anonymous, 04 Oct 2021580 eur... for that... LOL! They are amazing, have you &quo... moreWell, that's a typical reaction of someone who is willing to react negatively to any initiative that would endanger (in their minds at least) their hunger to consume limitless and if possible at the cheepest possible price (or at the highest if snob or hooked at the position on the social ladder). Congratz. Maybe some day you'll think back at periods in life where you saw people trying to make a difference, how little it may be while you were only busy bashing on all and every thing.
To me this exercise is brilliant and the price is fair, a lot more that all the crappy overexpensive fashion phones (kuch Apple, kuch Samsung...)

Nice to see a new Fairphone, the current Fairphone 3+ is selling pretty good and people who buy them are very satisfied. The reason they ask a relatively high price is because of the whole sustainability and friendly source winning situation, people who still say the price is too high really don't know anything about that specific subject. Ignorance at its best.
About the phone itself: not my favourite design with the notch and chin, but it's common these days. Good to see they improved from the latest model and give 5 years of warranty. Take that, any other companies. It's like KIA in the world of cars with 7 years. Means they have trust in their own products.

Have all wired headphones been recycled yet?
Removing the headphone jack goes straight against the eco branding. Do we have to use one more dongle to go from USB-c to 3.5mm? Or do we stick to bluetooth headphones with more complex electronics and more batteries than the plain ol' wired headphones? (less recyclable e-waste!)
The other issue with bluetooth headphones is privacy/security: it beacons its MAC address when on (privacy) and it can be the means for getting hacked (security).

You can buy a second one and carry it with you, if you desperately need more battery. But no headphone jack really is dumb and makes this a bad joke.
