Gotta admit, €580 is too much for this.
€350-400 could be acceptable imo, comparing other smartphone rivals these days.

limecheesecake, 30 Sep 2021For all the people that are hating on this phone and its €5... morewell you know motorola said same thing with moto mods but you cant find any mods in a good price tag anymore and even motorola wont release a phone with mods support again. hope fairphone dont go sameway as motorola

For all the people that are hating on this phone and its €580 price tag, this is no ordinary phone, this is a user-upgradeable and repairable phone, and Fairphone says, that they will still be making parts that fit and can upgrade this phone for 5 years now. Meaning that you could buy this now, and in a few years, upgrade the hardware of this phone for a fraction of the price of a new phone, or if you for example smash the screen or want to replace the battery, you can do so with relative ease. I think this is an amazing product and I hope it takes off.

        580 Euros 😱😱😱

          580 € ips display!

Anonymous, 30 Sep 2021With this terrible battery and without audio jack the phone... moreTerrible battery? 4k mAh plus a more frugal processor than the "flagships" sounds pretty similar to the Pixel 5, which is perfectly fine for battery life. And you've seen no test of its performance.

              Still, haters gotta find something.

                Are tou kidding?? 580 euros???

You are indirectly supporting the employees for fairer working condition. Fairphone is not the kind of company who use overworked underpaid employees like Apple/Foxconn does.

large bezels, weird texture/material on the back
                      camera bump looks nice though
i mean like if the software support was good then it could be worth it

the price is very very high for these specs. and too much bezels for nothing. the phone is very tall for 6.2inch display and the battery capacity not good too

They must be universally compatible as everything is moving towards Type-C connector. Even the European commission is looking to prosecute Apple for still using incompetent connectors on their phones. Hopefully EU will look to standardize this audio via USB too. But luckily we can use USB-C to Audio Jack adapter to overcome this idiot driver incompatibility. Otherwise we will have to return to Nokia in 2000 with 2mm barrel for power, mini USB for data and 2.5mm audio jack. Three intakes for dust and water.

Probably going to buy it on launch. Too bad more companies wont follow them and only launch one or two phones per year instead of constant barrage of one new phone per week.

If Fairphone can give the ability to upgrade the 3+ and 3 with the new stabilized 48MP main camera and Snapdragon 750G chipset alongside the USB-C 3.0 port with video output support, that would be a slap to major brands' face for modular repairability.

mariubrlu, 30 Sep 2021Why do you people still cry about the museum headphone jack... moreThe headphone jack is still not a museum since it is the only way you can get studio-grade quality as ASUS did with the ROG Phone 5. As for USB-C earphones, that 'the sound is digital' remark is precisely the reason why it's not universally compatible with every smartphone as smartphones, ironically, don't share the same audio drivers. I remembered trying to connect the Samsung AKG USB-C earphone to a OnePlus 8 Pro and a Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro but neither of them worked at all. That is why the headphone jack is still relevant in 2021 and beyond.

Wow, 16.20cm tall !! I can't realize when the world requested tablets instead of mobiles :)). Good job for the specs though. Hopefully the mini version is not far away. Sadly my next phone will still not be a Fairphone because of oversizing!

I'm still okay with the IPS LCD screen it's still more reliable than OLED, though I'm still not sure about the teardrop notch. The lack of a headphone jack is a real bummer to me.
