Most people don't need latest and greatest. Stuff you can do with this phone is pretty impressive. Reason for the high price. You expect them to keep the phone for 7-10 years

Even though I have a good track record of taking care of phones. My Huawei Mate 10 Pro to this day still is ok in fact I manage to hardwired the 12v to 3.8v to the battery manage system chip (replace battery that is connected BMS chip) use everyday at my desk.

I have a Xiaomi Black Shark Snapdragon 845 gaming phone that has easiest time to replace the battery. These two phones is almost 7 years old. Issue with these phones is buying the battery that isn't from manufacturer is a hit and miss reason why I hardwired one of the phones for my desktop use. Current battery for Xiaomi Phone I got lucky that its actual 4200 mah battery. Many times I got one that is 2000 mah and would fail in few months.

I feel like demanding software will slow down on non-gaming side. There isn't much room to innovate other than making them faster for gaming use. Majority are just wasting money away if they try to upgrade every 2-3 years.

Even for gaming use most of the games can run on older Snapdragon 845 with Adreno 630 which Fairphone 5 has much better 643. May not run a lot of highend game but competitive games is made to easy to run on very old phones with Adreno 620 or Mediatek G88.

they should be "fair" about the price tag.
chinese company could offer SD 7 gen 2 at much lower price.
this phone has nothing "fair" to be considered with such price segment.
if only "fair" phone could offer same spec with around 50% more price, it can be considered fair enough.
        this phone only sells gimmick

Ecologists? People buy Fairphone for the replaceable battery and for SD card, and for easy bootloader unlock.

In 2022 only about 0.008% of all the phones sold were fairphone.

Does that ring any bells to the wannabe ecologists here?

If you buy reputable brand you can then fine spare parts for it, including battery and even parts from 3rd part companies. I've replaced battery in my BOSE QC35II headphones and it cost me $10! Other headphones I have are SOUNDPEATS (I don't remember which model) that are 4 years old and still give me solid 6h on battery at 80% volume.

But some others don't want that and they care about such things more than the average person and that's when the Fairphone enters the game. Just choices each individual makes.

Removable, long-lasting battery, 3.5mm jack. It only has a removable, but non-lasting battery, no 3.5mm jack and abysmal speakers. All it can offer is "repairability"...but if i have it, i'll be begging it to die sooner so i can get something decent.

Hence, I''ll just buy the Redmi note 10 pro as a more practical option than this.
