I am deciding on buying the Gionee M2... Just wantd 2 know 2 things:
1.are Google apps like G.Play,G.Maps, G.Search inbuilt in it or hav to download?
2.Whether Jelly Bean will b upgraded to Kitkat...?

wasim, 19 Sep 2014My gionee m2 after updet android kitkat 2 major problam aut... moreI too had the same power off/rebooting problem( in android JB) U need to go to the service centre.
They will most probably format your phone again install the os.

Hi to all Gionees... Before purchasing of Gionee, I was afraid to go for Gionee. But, I was decided to go for Gionee M2. Because, earlier I used DELL Venue Pro - Windows mobile and faced lot of technical problems in first 3 months and have been exchanged to new one. Later it worked better except battery problem. It's a live hell...
After that I purchased Gionee M2...It's a DARLING PHONE.. Awesome battery backup and fine future.. I suggest others to go for Gionee M2...
It will be more better if display replaced with Gorilla 7.
Love Gionee.. You will be loved by your beloveds..

Been using Gionee M2 for a month and then my battery goes flat. Charged it for a whole night but still my battery doesn't cross the 14% mark and when I plug out my battery goes nil... Damn annoyed...

i am using this phone for last 3 months. most people have apprehensions regarding heating , weight of this phone.
first this phone is designed for long use , so yes they but a heavy battery in it and yes its a heavy phone (198g) compared to average of 160g of other phones.
second , there is no heating issue on long usage and neither during charging. i have never observed that under normal use . i don't play heavygames but this is not the right phone gamers as evident by the specs.
third, screen quality?? this is a compromise for that big battery. the view angles are very bad but sharpness of images is just ok. well i visit a lot of sites , and u will find not much difficulty but the experience is certainly not good after 1 hour of continuous browsing , my eyes will be strained . i don't know about other phones as this is my first smartphone.
fourth and most enquired, the battery? its awesome. u can use your phone for full 2 days with heavy usage (3g , music, videos , game, etc. ) in my office almost every person looks for a charging cable for their phones after 6 hours of usage. that's certainly not the case for me . even suppose if i forgot to charge the phone after 2 days , just switch off net , and voila , u can easily survive the 3rd day easily.
fifth , performance? its overall good . yes there is bit lag after screen unlock , but that is rare , i think that is because of large no. of apps installed by me.i am still figuring that out . but most of the apps are running smoothly. so for a 10 k phone that is acceptable.
NOW, buy this phone only if u are looking for a phone with very good battery life , aspire for average performance , and good looks. if u want a soothing screen then don't buy this.

I purchased gionee m2 at 1 month ago..I installed Gta 3 , gta vice city ,gta san andress , call of duty , nfs most wanted. ,etc .all are games playing smoothly., but when i start the whats app on my gionee m2 it goes slow like my old phone karbonn a1. which has 160 mb ram.. and gionee m2 has 1 gb of ram..so i m confused .. how can i solve my problem ? plz help me to clear my doubt ...

i donno others experience about this model.But for me ,i am well satisfied .Its not an ips display its a TFT and the ppi isnt too high either but the thing is that u wont know all these things unless u read it in the spec chart,that much great and stunning display is gionee's.Its giving much much more value than what we get from those likes of samsung's in this price range.The battery what the phone offers is 30+hours of usage with full time internet.go for it,good buy
