Well after a lot of thought I decided to get the pixel 2 xl coming from galaxy s8, I was very excited... I got a piece manufactured in November from Flipkart.. The minute I put it on, I could see this heavy and very prominent blue shift at the slightest tilt of the phone.. I also felt the display was very grainy like a matte screen guard was applied on it.. And my camera had problems too, it was elongating the images, like stretching them vertically, looked very wonky..
I decided to contact Google customer care as Flipkart takes no returns.. The service seemed very prompt, the guy came to my place, picked up the phone after seeing the issues.. I was impressed at first..
But to my surprise, they took my device for 10 days.. No call, no follow up... I called them... And their response, we tested your device, everything is okay.. We are sending back the same phone.. No replacement coz we don't see a problem...
The blue shift, still the same, display still grainy... Camera yes they fixed it I guess.. But am very disappointed with the service.. So if you are in India, forget getting any replacement for your pixels, they will take your phone, keep it for 10 days n give us back the same... Sad..

I love my Pixel 2 XL. I have had this phone for less than 2 weeks since I made the MAJOR investment in purchase this ($900 something). I got it in a timely fashion. Right out of the box I was impressed. I love the single lens camera look and the fingerprint sensor on the back. Where it should be. After doing a battery drain and charging it back up to 100% I began to us it and I am very impressed. It seems quicker/snappier than its predecessors. The real selling point is the PURE Android experience. It doesn’t have the ads and extra apps like Facebook, Uber, IHeart Radio and Carrier Apps. It only comes with 21 (last I counted) pre-installed apps. On my old phone I jail broke/ rooted it to get the features to do what this phone already comes with. Like killing apps in the back ground and limiting permissions on what apps can have access to. (Why does the calculator need access to your phone book???) Also, the battery life is OUTSTANDING. I tend to use my phone for my business which makes it my second most important tool for what I do. I will have it fully charged at 6:30 in the morning with heavy use during the day. It will still be around 20% at 8 o’clock that night. The automatic music identifier is a great touch as is the camera. I have taken a lot of pics with it and this is the absolute best I’ve ever used or seen. For the average user like me I will never get the full use out of it but, it is good to know it is there.
One of the few things I am disappointed about is the Google Photos. I am not good with how it tries to identify everyone in the pics and try to ask you their names. Which it send your photos to the Google Cloud. At this point I feel like I am feeding the “Beast”. So I use a third party app for my photos. Another problem that I had was in the first 72 hours my phone kept saying that Google has stopped. Nothing worked after that. I turned it on and off and it still was doing the same thing. I checked for an update which there was and it took care of the problem. But, my real problem is with Google themselves. Two weeks after I bought my phone the prices dropped by $200. So I called and inquired about getting in on this deal and they said that I would have to return my phone and order a new one. First of all, who does that? For an older person like me it takes 3 days to get my phone just the way I want it. So this would mean I would have to put my info back on my old phone (Nexus 6) then transfer it again when I get my new phone. That is just too much trouble. So if I return it they can keep it. I will just get a Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s. It’s still $200 cheaper with the discount that Google is giving. I am very disappointed in how Google is handling my situation. I’m pretty sure I am going to return it because it is the principle of it. But, still I refuse to go to Apple due to their control freak OS and I will go back to a flip phone before going to a Samsung. Also, they didn’t send me a survey after I hung up on them

Tamburano, 18 Mar 2018 Any recommendations on a screen protector? I'd shop on Ama... moreThese things are pretty tough / resistant to scuffs etc , if you’re as careful as you say , you shouldn’t need any screen protector or stuff like that , to me , the phone looks and fells way better without the protection
All or most of this screen protections are a gimmic for the most part , an industry on its own

My first Google phone and I have been very pleased. I frequently change devices but this to the point of last frontier. Nevermind Samsung, LG, Sony, HTC. This is a great phone and everything else of its features. I admire Google products therefore this phone rated 9 out of 10

It's a great phone; just be sure to buy from the Google Store. The Verizon Variant on the PIXEL 2 XL is not OEM unlockable; LOCKED BOOTLOADER.
No rooting or factory re-imaging possible

marko97sx, 08 Mar 2018This phone is embarrassing. Look at those bezels. Yes, they... moreI love this phone and I’m glad I made the decision to buy it. Came from an s8 still running nugget not Oreo and don’t miss it at all. Your opinion is just that.
If you can afford this device then headphones are a fraction of the cost, who don’t own headphones anyway. I had both nexus 6 and 6p and they were nothing special the 6p was fragile, bent easy plus it had the snapdragon 810 with heat issues that throttled performance because the 810 was a bad soc. The nexus 6 was a good device but had a battery that needed charging at minimum of twice a day. How have google f!!ked up in making a better device!!!
Fare enough if it’s not your type of phone but at least give a better reason for trash talk.

AnonD-744409, 13 Mar 2018What about the battery life, how is it compared to S7edgeIMO this phone is pretty good. Battery life is about above average, about 5h SoT on browsing, music & video playback. About 4h SoT for gaming. My S7e was about the same with this phone in terms of battery life but keep in mind that I owned P2XL and S7e and my S7e was about 2 years old. Thanks for the question :-D

I really would love this device if the screen was better. Just been into my local CW and also the EE shop. CW no longer have it turned on, and stutter and stammer when asked why. The one in EE, it sadly had burn in, which was highly distracting. A fat "G" in the centre of the screen. Quite obvious too. Shame, because their cameras are fantastic. Hopefully they add wireless charging in the next one, and improve the screen. Much of the rest is excellent.

Upgraded from my Galaxy S7 to the Pixel 2 XL. I loved that phone, but I can 100% without a doubt say that the Pixel is gonna be the phone I use for years to come. It's fast, the camera is top notch, the battery life is insane, and there are so many other positives that outweigh any negatives, for me. 9/10 phone, would recommend to everybody
