As a Tracfone/Straigttalk Representative , I agree with your statement that
most of the IPhones even newer model IPhones have antennae issues. Our customer experience like NO SERVICE and SEARCHING in fact the area has excellent coverage and we have no fix using our system, instead refer them back to the phone manufacturer (Apple).

They had to underclock it just to improve battery life and prevent throttling which is a very bad sign. It means they are too cheap to use energy efficient components and a heatpipe and also too lazy to optimise battery life. This is unacceptable for a device that costs this much.

$749 iPhone XR: 720p, wider notch, inferior camera, no fast charger & dongle. It's beautiful!

$799 Pixel 3: 1080p, no notch, comes with fast charger & dongle. It's ugly and expensive!

nick, 14 Oct 2018how do you know for the longer software support ?Never heard about iPhones? Even the 5s can be updated to iOS 12. So yes between these 2, iPhone is a better choice.

                  Design is still 2015-2016.

Good luck with your iPhone XR. I returned the iPhone XS MAX after 4 days. I've owned every iPhone that was ever made. Deeply entrenched in the IOS echo system. I own a 2014 power book , 2 Apple TV, and 5 iPads (one for every person in my family.) I suffered through antennagate on the iPhone 4, and Apple's fix to the problem, I was holding the phone wrong. Apple has a serious issue with cellular service again on the new iPhones. Do some research on the internet about cellular signal issues with the new iPhone. Users are reporting higher dropped calls and bad call quality on the new iPhones. I experienced all this first hand on AT&T"s network but it's not carrier specific. IOS 12.01 appears to have fixed the wireless network issue for some but not all users. Do your homework before buying. I was a guinea pig the first time around with iPhone 4, not happening again. Plus with every version of IOS it slowly cripples your version of iPhone. I upgraded my old iPhone 6 plus, my backup phone, to the latest version of IOS and it useless now. Severe lag in every application and apps randomly crashing. I even had the battery replaced for 29.00 through the Apple battery replacement program, that did not fix it.

The current iPhone is beautiful and super fast but clearly shows not enough testing was done ahead of time before it's release. No way in hell Apple did not experience the issues that thousands of people are complaining about. I for one am tired of Apples crap. I made the switch and purchased the Pixel 3, it arrives on Oct 22nd, this will be my first ever Android based phone.

A couple of workers in my office owned the Pixel 2 had nothing but great things to say about them, so I made the swith.

huge price tag for the smoothness i think that's reasonable. but i will chose iPhone XR over this phone, not so different in price tag and same smoothness, but longer software support for the same price tag 800 USD. don't care about OLED panel or notchless display.

Average main camera and poor front. Thats not what people wants for 860 euros.
Also no jack and SD slot.

I ordered one. Not happy about not having a headphone jack (upgrading from a motorola G6 which I love!) Looking for an improved camera. Hate the notch on the XL. I wish these flagship phones were in the 300-500 price range so everybody could afford them.

Too bad the camera isn't much of an upgrade according to Max Lee's camera comparison. The Pixel 2 was just so good already that it was hard to improve upon it only a year later.

Still, I prefer the Pixel 3 over 2 because the bezels got smaller and "5.5 over "5. To save money, get Pixel 2. Pixel 3 or Sony Xperia XZ3 Compact will be my next phone.

I was waiting for this one... but the price just killed me and I bought another phone (same processor) with even more RAM, more MP and non-Chinese for 300 dollar less....
Sorry Google... faster updates don't justify the price tag. You just lost a client.
