It's not 'people' but only one person who keeps posting the same boring thing and listing the same boring link every time. He/she doesn't even own a Pixel 3a but thinks that he/she has the right to preach to those of us who actually do.
I spoke to a member of staff who works in a store of the country's biggest mobile phone outlet and he had never heard of the phone shutting down randomly and that the 3a is selling well and not ONE has been returned with this so-called problem.
I have a Twitter account with 20.6k followers and I asked for anyone with a 3a to tell me if they had any problems with their phone and everyone that replied told me that they were delighted with it and found it to work faultlessly. I think that puts it into perspective.

To all people wanting this phone my advise is WAIT until problems with this phone (and the XL) are fixed, do not take my word for it, look around the internet:

To this date there's no fix other than exchange the defective phone and sometimes people are getting another one with the same defect.

I find it funny how people who haven't even manager to get a hold of the phone have commented that the phone is crap. Go deal with what ever phones your using rather then misleading people on forums and comments

In reality it's built, optimized and performs much better then the non-plastic crap out there.

I have decided to ignore all the comments being posted by the person identified with location LX7 because it is obvious that he doesn't own a Pixel 3a yet is determined to cause as much trouble with real owners as he can. I beg all of you to do the same and then he might go somewhere else to cause trouble.

Google has done nothing to my knowledge, same with pixel 3, bugs stay months after the phones were released.

The problems you mention (which never affected me) were fixed within days of appearing. Credit to Google for acting so fast, some manufacturers take ages to admit their problems or just ignore them and hope they will go away.

I've had the Pixel 3a since it came out and like you I am delighted with it simply because everything works. I had a Nokia 7 Plus until the charging port became loose and wouldn't charge anymore (common fault). Then I purchased a Oneplus 6 but could never get Whatsapp notifications to work. I got fed up with people sending me a text message saying that they have sent me a WA. Every app I have on my Pixel 3a just works!
I like the plastic body on it because I can squeeze it to bring up Google Assistant without shouting Hey Google or OK Google, which looks strange in the street when you say it.
My 3a has worked perfectly from Day 1, and not many phones can boast that.

I still wouldn't have a use for a phone that starts / restarts itself up anytime or a phone that crashes if you leave the wifi on while idle, much less if it is a $400 cheap piece of plastic.
