Anonymous, 27 May 2019I currently own an iPhone 6S, should I upgrade to a Pixel 3... more6s is at the end of the road, pixel 3a will be superior in almost every respect specially the camera and battery life, one thing 6s is superior is it's superb build quality like most iPhones are.

I picked up my 3a yesterday and it will be used in conjunction with my S10e. This is a fantastic phone.
Battery life is great and I am at 7:25 SOT today at 28%. The screen is excellent for a phone at this price and can be read easily in direct sunlight. The SD670 has plenty of power and 4 gigs of ram is sufficient and everything flows smoothly. The finger print scanner is lightening quick and is as fast as the one on my Mate 10 Pro which I consider the best. The biggest surprise was the haptic engine and it is the best of any phone I have ever had and its also the same one found in the Pixel 3 & 3xl. I have never been a fan of glass backed phones so the polycarbonate back is perfect for me and it looks just like the back of the Pixel 3. At 147 grams I barely notice it in my pocket just like my S10e. I grew tired of my Note 8 dragging my pockets down and will never go back to a heavy phone.
The camera is of course excellent and I am blown away by night sight. I could easily use this as my only phone. It really is that good! If this phone had a near bezeless screen like the S10e it would be perfect.

Of course no smart person would keep sensitive data on a smartphone right? There is nothing important in our download and gallery folders, on our e-mail accounts, facebook or whatsapp. In any case we there are tears we can spill in media to excuse ignorance.
Jokes aside. Seriously - I considered buying iPhone only for regular updates and longtime support. I don't care for new OS or features (I see no difference between Android 2 and 9 from my point of view) - I care for security patches and this is where iPhone and Google wipe out competition. Longer support based on technical reasons not marketing trash talk. Really - I used my Wildfire S the same way I use S5. They are same fast and same battery hungry. Only Wildfire was pocket friendly and could be easy operated one hand. I would not dropped it if it wasn't for security.

I bough this as a present for my wife. So far so good. Fantastic camera (especially in low light), decent battery life, smooth user interface; worth money for sure !

Should i go for the OnePlus 5T or the Pixel 3a? Both phones are the same price, 450 USD.
I’ve heard the screen on the 3A is prone to shattering easily. It’s probably because Google uses DragonTrail Glass instead of Gorilla Glass to reduce the cost. I’m a clumsy person so I’m a little concerned about the durability of the 3A. Can someone help me to decide which one should I buy? Thanks in Advance.

ROFL
"The user experience is very bad:
- the fingerprint reader on the back is so useless when it's on the car cradle or sitting on the desk)... given the large bottom bezel (like the one on my good old Samsung S7 Edge) they could have integrated a front fingerprint reader!"
Fingerprint reader on the back is the most comfortable and practical one, if it's under the screen you can forget about unlocking it as fast as you would while getting it out of your pocket, you can't even know which side the phone is in your pocket and weather you're touching the right area! So this is NONSENSE.
" the "OK Google" doesn't work (I don't want to "squeeze" the phone, what's the point of voice commands if you have to take the phone in your hand)"
it does work if you activate it, sometimes if you don't feel like saying OKEH GUGAL like some m0r0n you can just squeeze and ask.. it's awesome
"the gesture bar is quite terrible... the user experience on the Pixel 2 is better thanks to the navigation bar (the 3 buttons at the bottom of the screen)"
gestures is just a gimmick most people don't even use them
"no wireless charger... unfortunately I didn't notice that before buying this phone"
who needs this slow wireless charger thing, I barely used it on my Nexus 5 and it got my phone super hot, probably not even good for the battery and isn't so good if you got a case!
"the display is not very visible outdoors"
Should've thought about it before buying an Oled screen, but at least you can use Google's New Dark theme and save on battery.
"the Pixel launcher is not as good as the stock one from Android One"
Android One is even more simple and boring the the Pixel launcher, what are you talking about.
"do not disturb + volume control is still very inconvenient to use compared to the old three state setting (volume on/vibration/silent)"
Again, a NOVA launcher can fix that for you.
"And finally... I still miss SO much the physical buttons!"
...what? get a nokia 3310
"Why didn't I buy a Samsung S10e instead?"
Because it's an overpriced waste of money.

I had this phone for a week now, I bought it for my mom, I have a pixel 2, I will be using the pixel 3a for another week before giving it to her, switching from Pixel 2 to Pixel 3a is the same, I am not missing anything speedwise it is the same, I like how it feels, all plastic, costwise no complains, the phone is a great bargain.

Charo, 12 May 2019The pixel's 3 hours SOT is a joke compared to the a50's lon... moreThe A50 is a jack of all trades (master of none) phone designed mainly to compete with (desperately try to stop) the chinese as possible before it's too late, the pixel 3a is an ordinary midrange phone with a jewel camera, these two phones are not meant to be compared as are aimed at different type of customers. To the average folks pixel 3a is an expensive and nearly useless device. To the pixel 3a customer the A50 is just another mediocre cheap phone in a long list of them with a blurry camera just about as good as the next one.

alcho, 16 May 2019is 64gb enough for apps today? forcing user to use their cloud..This phone is for taking flagship level pictures at a sub $500 price, it is unique, and yes it should be able to store a lot of pictures with 64 gb, if you are not so interested in picture quality really there not much of a point on getting this at all.

alcho, 16 May 2019is 64gb enough for apps today? forcing user to use their cloud..It should, as long as you don't play many games and not planning to keep there a lot of music and movies. The thing is the available space will be much much smaller, I would expect around 40GB after upgrading all the built-in Google Apps. For reference, my Cat S30 has a total of 8GB internal space with Android 5.0, but actual free space is only 2.5GB as the rest is taken by Android, recovery partition, and Google Apps (even if you don't use these) so watch out.
