lol. If you want the real opinion of this phone, just search the journalist or reviewer that professionally do. Don't even trust easily from this opinion sheet--Marques, Linus, Lew, DxOMark, GSMArena, Android Authority, XDA Developers for deeper information.
Many of this "junkie master tech" didn't understand the purpose of this phone. They only blaming on paper-sheet spec without touching this phone. Also don't trust easily with some critism that could be considered as useless essay. The blaming processor with SnD 670 with 400EUR pricing, screen, and no SD Card for expansion. They--the defective reviewer--didn't understand the Google is, means they aren't professional who didn't do the job properly.
Google is a internet service that provides software based service. So, Google known for Computational Engineering, Machine Learning, and Cloud Based Programming Paradigm. They don't sell hardware--unlike Xiaomi and Oneplus. Also, Google is not everyone phone, meaning this phone for simple person or enjoying the software behemoth from Google. No SD Card as expansion ? Try Google Drive, it's free and has 15GB capacity per account--meaning 5 Account could boasted up to 75GB. Internet connection also become more cheaper, thanks to high-demand user.
Most of people buy this for Camera. Google is the most consistent tech company that develops camera algorithm for 3 YEARS, since original Pixel phone. They never leave anyone unimpressed by camera implementation. Many trusted reviewer from Youtuber, Tech Journalist, even Blogger even considered is as great phone, but not perfect.
The pricing point is the biggest issue here. Some of them considered 399 is expensive and 479 for XL model is horrendously expensive. For me, it's not expensive at all. Hardware section maybe mediocre, but software is ungodly great. They even managed to put 4GB RAM and they nailed it, thanks for advanced RAM management. Also, update is blazingly fast. For every month, you'll get an update. Because of this--Google focused on software paradigm, not hardware--it's normal to expect this thing priced that.
I also read that many of Indian people freaking out about the high price--570USD. Don't blame Google, blame your government by putting high taxes obligation. Also, India targeted as low to med class Smartphone, so what do you expect. In America, this phone worshipped, through there's no Xiaomi here for some reason. Singaporean people also loves this phone. Also many people in europe, loves this phone. And as I mentioned before, this phone is not meant for everyone.
So, don't spread the fake review that targeted to consumer who has really really basic tech knowledge to urge not buying this phone. Experience it at least 1 week or even 1 month if neccesary. Even you experience if this phone that bad, you must objective to review the phone--not comparing other brand that has different focus. Thanks.

Lots have a head phone jack is nothing new Big deal.
I am amazed at how amazingly bad google is at making phones and how Google phones ar at least two years behind competition. With pixel 3 they managed to make the most atrocious notch ever to exist and now this
those bezels are straight up from a midrange 2015 phone that noone ever bought, and the plastic is really worse than i expected. Software is also meh, the dude that invented pill navigation should award a 'raspberry' award for worst navigation implementation ever
And somewhere there, there it was. the Hawie P30
Worlds apart. One was boss and one was toy. Don't waste your money. Lots of better choices.

lornova, 14 May 2019I received my Google Pixel 3a yesterday, and I'm already tr... morehalf of the reasons you just mentioned you could of found out before buying the phone, the fingerprint reader on the back, oled screens are never going to be bright outside so doesn't matter which phone you buy with an OLED screen. they just aren't bright, same on TV's. You should of done your research first, all the information you need to know about the device is readily available. So you cant criticise the phone.

I agree, a Pixel 2 is a way better choice than a Pixel 3/3a.
However I will never buy a phone without the headphones jack. To me that's a definite showstopper.

I received my Google Pixel 3a yesterday, and I'm already trying to sell it without loosing too much money. I've never been so disappointed by a new phone.
The user experience is very bad:
- the fingerprint reader on the back is so useless when it's on the car cradle or sitting on the desk)... given the large bottom bezel (like the one on my good old Samsung S7 Edge) they could have integrated a front fingerprint reader!
- the "OK Google" doesn't work (I don't want to "squeeze" the phone, what's the point of voice commands if you have to take the phone in your hand)
- the gesture bar is quite terrible... the user experience on the Pixel 2 is better thanks to the navigation bar (the 3 buttons at the bottom of the screen)
- no wireless charger... unfortunately I didn't notice that before buying this phone :-(
- the display is not very visible outdoors
- the Pixel launcher is not as good as the stock one from Android One
- do not disturb + volume control is still very inconvenient to use compared to the old three state setting (volume on/vibration/silent)
- And finally... I still miss SO much the physical buttons!
Why didn't I buy a Samsung S10e instead?

Don't buy. I've seen someone bought an LG V30 for $200, which is half the price and superior SoC and everything.

I live in an area with poor mobile internet connectivity. My current phone has micro sd slot and a 128gb card. On that I hold my whole music collection. I love the Pixel 3a, but with only 64gb main memory with no card slot at all it can never be the phone for me :{

here's why Pixel 2 XL is a better buy:
- similar price (it is even cheaper in some countries now, )
- better processor (SOC 835)
- better camera (correct me if I'm wrong, but better processor = better software image rendering = better image quality, right?)
- better speaker
- arguably a better screen
- better build quality
- better color (IMO, the Panda is by far the best color option Pixel was offering)
- software support till 2021
I SEE NO REASON TO BUY THE 3a/3a XL.

Anonymous, 12 May 2019This phone destroys A50 in every aspect(exept the bezels)The pixel's 3 hours SOT is a joke compared to the a50's longevity
Plus the a50 has wide angle camera for versatile photos
A50's processor is superior compared to the sd 670
Exynos 9610 (4x 2.3ghz cores and 4x 1.7 ghz cores) vs sd 670 (2x 2.0ghz and 6x 1.7ghz)
Dont forget samsung's built in features

Camera is nice compared to price.. checked in best buy now. Big bezels at top and bottom kills the overall look. Else it would have been awesome entry level phone for 399. Because of other missing features this phone is worth $100.. :)
May be this is google's $100 phone!??

Everyone is complaining about the design – I'd like to object. It's welcome that there is a phone without the ugly notch. Also, it can obviously fit into a pocket, something most of the "modern" >6" phones can't.
