Why will someone pay 399$ for Snapdragon 670? Doesn't makes any sense.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I honestly like the look, it's simple, minimalistic and functional. Why does it matter if people are going to put a case on it anyways?

A70? That is a huge phone. How about the A40? They're both plastic, very similar in size, A40 has better and bigger screen (even though it's physically slightly smaller! what were they thinking at Google when they designed their phone?! I have no idea...) and sd-card, 3A has all the amazing Google software and a promise of longer support straight from Google.

Verm, 10 May 2019Yea. Its all good until your phone breaks. The build qualit... morePolycarbonate back panel should be more durable than glass sandwich, which is found in almost every flagship and 'premium budget' nowadays. Plastic is indeed cheaper than glass or metal, but it's not necessarily more fragile than the latter two. If anything the phone is not going to break or shatter if you drop it. And people are still going to slap a case on it either way, so I'm not sure where did you get this 'questionable build quality' from. Ifixit has recently released a Pixel 3a XL teardown, so you might wanna check that out before coming to any conclusion. I don't think $400 is too expensive for a midranger that has the same main camera module as its flagship big brother. But yeah let's wait for Zack to tinker and play around with it first.

                  I bought it.

Let’s see how it is when it gets here.

I have a S10+ (work) and I was looking for a smaller second phone that could still take great pictures.

This will be my first Pixel after years of Samsung phones and I am curious.

Does this phone have single bottom firing speaker or dual stereo speakers? Other sites are mentioning only one speaker.

I wonder if google will push to many updates filling it up?. Camera ok its good but my quick pics of the dog/ dinner/ arn't going to win awards. I wouldn't buy a phone for the camera anyhow, Build qaulity is ok plastic as many are, but i think One UI Samsung may have an edge over this thoughts???

The pixel 3a lacks alot in the hardware aspect but makes it up for the software and camera. Basically you are paying for the google experience. Consistent update for the next 3 years with little to none bloatware. Great camera that can rival flagship phones. Sure, the bezels makes the phone design looks like it belongs in 2015. The problem with smartphone manufacturers is that depending on where you live, you may or may not get consistent updates. The biggest disappointment for me is the storage option and 4gb ram in 2019. 64gb is just too little and there is no external storage.

The build quality on this phone seems questionable. For 400 dollars, its still really expensive. Cutting costs on build quality is just bad. Ill rather much have a phone that can last. Only smartphone camera enthusiasts would no mind getting this phone as it has the original pixel 3 camera built in to it. We will have to wait for jerryrigseverything to do a durability test first.

Sounds like a great phone minus no SD slot and small battery for the price

It's providing what most people find necessary and doesn't force people to spend over $1k just to get the perfect camera or software. Thanks for bringing this out mate.

Its a supply and demand strategy between USA and India. If this phone is well sold USA, they won't be able to meet the enough supply demand at both parts of the world; that's why, they kept higher pricing knowing that it will not sell very well but if the USA market is not curious enough to test this product then a must price cut will happen.

People especially spec-sheet junkies are quick to bash this phone because of the mediocre hardware but if only they knew all the amazing work Google has put into its computational photography and machine learning. Getting the same main camera as their current flagship Pixel (which is arguably one the best camera on the market) with much lower price is a steal IMO. R&D isn't cheap people, yes they could sell this phone for $200 but what good would come out of Nexus 6P or OG Pixel like camera in 2019? it's a 'Pixel' phone afterall, they had to cut corners and trim something down to make up for the price cut. Also your $400-500 Chinese flagship-killer phones aren't any better, camera wise either. Sure you can install GCam but GCam for non-pixel phones is just too buggy and unreliable at the moment. I like what Google did here, best point-and-shoot camera for only $399, not to mention the 3 years of guaranteed updates and the built in Titan M chip (Pixel was rated the highest for built-in security among all smartphones besides Blackberry and iPhone).
