Anyone else having issues with Android 12 with the 3a? Well, the issues thus far are manageable, but the experience generally has become more buggy and frustrating. They weren't issues with 11 and 10..
Multi-tasking (moving between apps) is visually broken and sometimes laggy, the swipe-down toggles also visually break half the time, phone sometimes doesn't emit notification sounds (despite it not being on silent), and 90% of the time when I connect to a bluetooth handsfree, it doesn't use that for audio or calls (it goes to the phone speaker / microphone, despite it being told to use the connected device), and I need to resort to wired units.
I've posed the query on Google's reddit and there seems to be people with similar issues (well, bits and bobs, no one I've seen yet have all the issues I have). And in typical Google fashion, no official responses and hence no updates to fix.
Minimal apps (getting by with the built-in apps from Google), so I'm sure it's not an app causing issues. I restart my phone daily. The only thing I haven't done is a full reset but I'm really not keen on (given minimal apps I doubt it will fix my problem anyway).

I'm super confuse. Can this phone be a dual SIM phone like Samsung or any other brand phone with eSIM & physical active? People are confusing standby with active SIMs and their answers confuse me further. Can I use a physical SIM and a eSIM and receive calls on any SIM and call from any SIM (one at a time of course) ?

Thank you so much for giving your experience. i updated mine right after reading your comment, and everything is correct just like what you said. It keeps running smooth, no issue. Camera n battery great.
I do agree with your last point about switching cellular on/off, but it's okay, no serious issue.
So thanks a lot bro. So happy with android 12 on my pixel 3a 🎉🎊

Anonymous, 29 Oct 2021hi. i just wanna ask about your experience regarding androi... moreHi,
I updated my pixel 3a to android 12, 3 days back and I feel it's really worth it. Especially for following features:
1. Privacy dashboard and dot on notification bar for apps using camera and mic
2. Master switch to block camera and mic access
3. Changing the menu contrasts according wallpaper
4. 22% more efficient for core system services: This makes device faster and a snappy UI
5. Wonderful widgets
6. Battery performance has increased significantly.
Only thing that is irritating is switching the data toggle is two steps process now. Like click on internet and toggle mobile data or WiFi. Overall I think its good to go.
Regards,

Anonymous, 25 Oct 2021pixel 3a is awesome, and with android 12 its much betterhi. i just wanna ask about your experience regarding android 12. is it worth to update? currently I'm still in android 9, running flawlessly. my concern is on the performance (overall smoothness), battery, and camera. how is your experience regarding that 3 aspects? if it is okay, then I'll update.
thanks in advance

It's really a nice phone with the right performance and price, but the durability of the screen is very disappointing. I've read in someone else's comment that the glass breaks like potato chips. Sadly that's true.

For me the OS has been relatively fine (I've had three hard crashes over the past two years of ownership forcing me to long-press the power-button). Though my old Galaxy S6 of five years had zero issues like that... But that's another topic.
My biggest complaint with Pixels (and Google in general) is Google's app maintenance / updates. Camera app - broken for four months (need to uninstall all updates to get it functional). Music - updated to be useless (either forcing YT Music, or download something else - I'd rather use the built-in one). Phone Dialler - still uncontrolled dial tone volumes (max volume) which is extremely dangerous in emergencies where you need to call authorities in stealth. Recorder, stopped narrating reliably since last year.
Basically, their own app support is woefully lacking. I went Pixel for the 'pure' experience. But if they can't support their own apps, I'm not looking forward to long-term support for their hardware. Samsung and my S6 did a better job in that regard. And lets not talk about Pixel 3 bricking (though no evidence, forums are all pointing at forced / planned obsolescence).

had this phone for almost 2 years now (November 2019). Not the fastest, not premium feeling, feels cheap to be honest. But the best camera i ever had. i was blown away. battery took a big hit sometimes need to charge twice in a day but as per the SOT still getting 5 to 6 hours so the battery drain is probably due to my usage. still love the phone hoping to upgrade to the upcoming P6.

Superb phone. Fast and reliabel. Great camera with natural looking colors. But a bit fragile, I smashed the screen after one year. A bit sluggish software experience due to updates. Heavier grams than 4a, but not a big deal. 8/10.

That's far from what you want, I have a note 9 and it's gotten pretty slow because how much they change the UI each update, always 4.5gb out of 6gb of my ram being used. Just go to OnePlus, I made my mistake of switching from them

Bought it because it was on sale. Didn't had big hopes, but surprisingly a very good phone. Battery great, camera great. Currently running Androis S (12 beta) and still great. However, Google's latest updates screwed Maps, Gmail, Phone apps big time. When the "tech guys" fix the issues caused bytheir updates it would be 10/10, for now 6/10 due to screwed apps.

Google support is non-existent and don't really care that I paid $350 a year ago for this phone to be ruined by them. Pretty frustrating.
