Anyone having issues with the fingerprint reader since updating to Android 12? It's not all that consistant, device unlock is the most glaring issue I run into every day - fingerprints not recognized, I tried re-enrolling the prints to see if it makes it better, but the issue is not entirely gone.

W, 02 Nov 2021Heard some bad stuff about Android 11. Can someone tell me ... moreAndroid 12 is currently supported on the Pixel 4a at the moment; Android 11 for the Pixel 4a will never receive any more security patches.
If you stick with Android 11 at this point, it is basically a guarantee that your device will gradually accumulate more and more publicly disclosed security vulnerabilities.
(Yes, Project Mainline can deliver SOME security improvements independently of the monthly OTA patches, but there are some parts of the system which Mainline simply cannot touch, and so the monthly OTA updates remain an essential part of maintaining a properly secured phone.)
From a security perspective, switching to Android 12 is the obviously correct choice. Of course, you may have other conflicting priorities which may impact your decision.

If your priority is compact phone & astrophotography (never used except for testing one time) only, then prefer pixel 4a.

Cheap materials. Denied warranty claim without any reason. "The repair cost more than the phone." Then offer a refurbished for almost full price of the new one. Not recommended any Google phone.

anybody plz share assist which one is better google pixel 4a or samsung galaxy a52s.... 4a is 100 $ cheaper than that of samsung a52s...and i am not hurry about 5g ...

Paid $299 on Swappa for a mint graded, original box, factory charger and cable included. Plus 3 months of Mint Mobile for free. Free 2 day FedEx too!
I keep my daily drivers away from random apps. Only what comes pre-installed and I disable/uninstall anything I don't use.
I have an old Galaxy S5 (WiFi only) I use for any apps I may want. No Facebook ever! It's the worst app you can have on a phone. It's a battery killer resource hog.
I still have my old Galaxy S3. It's rooted of course with a custom ROM (Nougat) Zero Google apps on this one. I'll occasionally turn it on and mess with it. Believe it or not, I can leave that phone on for about 5 days before the battery is dead.
Be careful with apps if you guys care about performance and battery drainage.
And the Pixel 4a.....10 out of 10!!

Post Android 12 update, youtube videos are getting freeze some times but able to hear audio. Hope google will fix it soon.

Not a fan of the 12 update, only technical issue is when I'm running a timer it freezes on my lock screen and doesn't show the actual time of the timer.
Everything else I just don't like the look of or how it operates now, it's a downgrade and I wish I didn't upgrade.
