you have an expensive midrange rubbish, take the oneplus 7 pro, an older phone, selling for 549$ CAD, which translates to roughly 400$ USD, with no punchhole camera, an onscreen fingerprint reader with more cameras and storage and resolution and screen size, save 300$ and let idiots play fetch the dog with this useless overpriced pixel 5, can't believe people gets excited for that useless phone, stupidity is really a common illness these days
the pixel 3 @ 349$ brand new (on amazon) is a better buy, with half the price at least you beat the crap out of this midtier rubbish snapdragon on the pixel 5

I do feel that this phone lost in all departments, against other giants like Samsung and upcoming apple. IPhone 12 mini, will be probably cheaper and with better specs, not mentioning it`s iOS, and even smaller size. Samsung S20 FE 5g wins in other categories like specs and it`s a bigger phone with no caveats. The only thing that google pixel is better than others is their camera software. Pixel 5 fixed some things from pixel 4 lineup, but screwed up other things, Google haven`t improved at all.

This looks like a great package for certain people - long battery life, no awful apple-notch, clean UI, one of the best cameras out there. I have an older pixel 2 and it beats almost every new flagship camera when I compare them side-by-side (but lacks ultrawide and macro). I don't mind the fingerprint scanner - its probably the fastest way into the phone. I actually want a smaller screen and better battery life.

Anonymous, 01 Oct 2020How does it have wireless charging with a aluminum back?That's a great question. It looks like the aluminium is coated in a thin layer of plastic for texture and they must be hiding the coil underneath that.

It was either this or an iPhone. Double the price I know, but I'd rather longevity if that meant not upgrading every other year. I got a Pixel 2 when it was released in 2017 and that smartphone still sails with Android 11. It seems Google finally caught onto Apple's wisdom on how hardware and software optimizations really pay off in the long run. It's sad, but I had an S10+ and that same Pixel 2 still puts it to shame. RAM doesn't begin to matter (unless gaming, of course) when your launcher is eating that memory up in the background before one's own apps are launched. I wish Sammy would partner with Google and take some of their tips on optimizing.

Well this phone look good. I like the screen size and weight of phone. Unbeatable than other phone. I say other phone manufacturers they make brick. Compare to other this phone, i love it. Well what i dislike the value not very good, you can get better phone with better spec at same price. This pixel 5, You got slow 18 watt charge. slower 700 series sd. Back finger print not my style. Design a bit boring. Anyway this still good if you like to spend money for small phone for your lovely small hand.

I have a Pixel 3a, an excellent product for value in my opinion. However the very fact that people in Germany, unlike people in the UK & Ireland, are offered Bose headphones (€200 plus on value) to purchase a Pixel 5 have caused me to reflect and change my attitude towards Google and their products & services. This different and apparently unfair treatment of customers makes me angry! I no longer intend to deal with Google. Money is money and fairness is fairness.....

Looking at the Oneplus 8 next to this makes this phone completely unpurchasable in my opinion. They cost the same after a recent permanent price reduction by Oneplus, however the Oneplus 8 demolishes the Pixel 5 in almost all aspects, despite releasing 6 months earlier.
