Jimmy, 25 Aug 2020Rear mounted fingerprint scanner on a 2020 flagship. 😫😭What's wrong with that? In-screen is trash compared to capacitive unfortunately.

If this is the same size as the 4a and has 4000mAh, I will definitely switch. Last time I used clean Android was in 2013 on a Nexus 7 tablet.

Not happy for removing the face unlock from its flagship mobile. Being a pixel user now I need to look for other options.

I currently have the Pixel 4Xl and I'm considering switching phones to the Pixel 5. I just hope Google upgrades their camera sensor. But if they don't and the photos don't really look that different, I'm keeping the 4Xl.

Everyone tossing around the term "flagship" like it's a real thing; it isn't. It's a subjective marketing term to summarize it's specs for buyers that only care about specs. If your purchasing decision is based on specs alone, go ahead spend $1000+ for a device that'll likely crack within a month and one where you'll probably replace with "the next flagship!".
I think Google realized they got sucked into the flagship vortex, which is why their hardware designs for the 4a & 5 have shifted. The pixel was meant to showcase Android and what Google can do with great software; not gimmicky features like Project Soli. They've returned to their foundation and I'm personally happy about that. There's nothing to get excited about with mobile phones anymore. It's either a gimmick or new tech that isn't ready for showtime. I'm glad Google has dialed it back to provide an option that will last as long as it's support window, and the fact that the 4a & 5 remind me of Nexus makes it even better.

Well, I doubt Gorilla glass 3 or the plastic body will make an appearance. More like, glass coated with some sort of texture. Leaks suggest that there will be a 4000mah battery which makes me very happy and if that's true I will definitely buy it.

thatfatdood, 25 Aug 2020I think they're doing the old Nintendo approach: they ... moreYup.. and that is clever and more important than bloated Chinese and Korean specced phones, that offer a worse camera experience for more money. Software is king.

Seems everyone wants to take a guess at Google's flagship phone nowadays, like the lottery. However as a flagship phone, I seriously doubt there is gonna be a plastic body, gorilla glass 3 and a 5.8in display. On the other hand 4000mah seems a bit generous for these specs. I wouldn't go over 3800mah like the Pixel 4xl, which in this pixel 5 confirmation, had more need of extra juice than the 5, as many features have been removed (face unlock and soli radar). If this is confirmed, my faith in Google dies altogether, and I might as well go back to apple as I had enough of Seeing the same old specs in the Android crap phones...
