I wish they could implement a x5 optical zoom instead of ultra wide sensor and a faster charging system (at least 30W instead of 18W). I can tell you the 40W charger of the P30 Pro changes everything.

      androiduser2014, 24 Aug 2020this w0uld be perfect. 5.8 inch with a 4000mah. the sd765G ... moreI 2nd this

Guys tell me - do you actually use the power of a 865 snapdragon? Coming from ....835, 845, 855 phones, I don't I've ever pushed the thing even with the few games I play now and then. So 765 seems fine.
If it really turns out to be 5.8-6 inches with a 4000mah battery with a reasonable price (anything above 600Euros for a phone is stupid imo).

this w0uld be perfect. 5.8 inch with a 4000mah. the sd765G is good. it will finally boil down to the cost price. if the phone is priced properly, i would buy two.

I'm glad that to see google started making proper phones

Anonymous, 24 Aug 2020Is quite a downgrade from the 4xlIt's just a processor downgrade. Everything else is upgraded. The soli sensor was stupid and glad they threw it away because it spikes the price unnecessarily. I think they are reinventing themselves now to get sales higher and due to the global economic meltdown, it is the right way to go.

If they still use the same camera sensor since Pixel 3, then I'm really disappointed. I know Google is all about computational photography, but imagine if they just update the sensors. Of course it can make the picture output even better. And make it age better.

I think I can understand what they are doing with this set of components. The flagship range is too tough for them to compete because other manufacturers have more bells and whistles. This way, they are offering a cheaper variant with a grand camera, awesome display, and still some power under the hood to handle even some more demanding games. With a small display and a big battery, great camera and vanilla software, this will be an awesome phone for the majority of users, We'd never buy it ourselves but we make less than 0.5% of the market share.

                        Pixel 4 sd 855
                        Pixel 5 sd 765??
Thumbs down for pixel 5 for doing worst performance this year 👎

A once-flagship smartphone now turning into a premium midrange smartphone? Tough luck to sell for anyone who currently owns a Pixel 4 or 4 XL and Pixel 3 or 3 XL.

If there would be a Pixel 5 XL with SD865 or SD865+ chipset, that could have change my mind.

This is looking better if its all right spec wise, I was really looking for a bigger battery, more ram, both googles signature camera plus an ultra wide, compact light weight phone. Im coming from a huawei p20 pro which is a phone i love apart from the terrible update process which is nil now.
