How many people are having connectivity issues after the December update? I've had Pixel 3 and now 5. Was very interested in the Pixel 6, particularly with the trade-in offer on my 5. It's hard to make that move when there's so much press about failed communications. It's the primary purpose of owning a phone! I would appreciate any feedback on connectivity.

Jimbob, 11 Dec 2021Was £360 on black friday... I dont think people want to pay... moreEven better pricing for the boxing day sales in Canada than Black Friday sales in Canada. So far, I have not been disappointed with the phone. Yes, that bump on the back is annoying, but that's my only complaint and I knew about the bump and assumed it would be annoying before I bought the phone.
Based on all the complaints I've seen about the fingerprint reader, I thought that was going to be a pain in the ass, but it works perfectly for me. It works even better than the fingerprint reader on the Essential Phone. Sometimes with the Essential Phone I could fool it with a different finger. I haven't run into that problem with the Pixel 6.
The new gestures since Android 10 have taken a bit of getting used to, but I'm off to the races now. The lack of a back button in the lower left corner of the screen was a bit offsetting at first. After you get used to the swipe gesture instead though, old habits die hard.
The new clock gadget is much nicer (I don't use the default face...it looks ugly as hell). The new weather widget is helpful. The bigger buttons in the toggle menu are annoying...I wish they kept them as the smaller icons that they had before.
Trying to get back to calls in Teams and/or the phone is proving to be annoying so far. The copying of the data over from the old phone doesn't work so well, either. I had to reenter all my accounts in both BlackBerry Hub and Outlook. Also, my ring tone got changed to some new one from Google (the old ring tone that sounded like a Nortel Princess phone is no more).
I'm giving it a 9/10. I'd give it a 10/10 if the migration was smoother and it didn't have goofy behaviour for returning to in-progress calls. I've lost two calls already today because of this.

Absolute beast of a phone for just 600!!! Powerful gpu for games at maximum graphical settings and fast cpu for seamless use. Battery life superb also, can last over a day depending how on heavy you use it.

Jacksonzxop, 21 Dec 2021Don't know if his claims are true are not but the mome... moreNo it's true. If my fingerprint does not work. I can get it slightly damp and it will work. That being said the fingerprint sensor is not great. I miss my LG V30 sensor.
I have only had a few issues but I'm ok with that it's a brand new phone and processor and it will get better. Every phone I have had has had issues and most of the time it's slow updates.
Battery life is excellent
Honestly the phone is great with a few issues that will get fixed, except for maybe the fingerprint sensor.
As far as being fragile. I want to use my phone with out worrying about it getting damaged so I always use a case. Phones are to damn expensive bro not spend 20 bucks to protect it.

Didn't really have any app crashing or network issue experience.
Recently I did notice some 2 or 3 unexpected restarts, though (maybe background software updating? fishy).

"Upgraded" from the Pixel 5. Have been using the 6 for a month now and I've had a horrible experience and will go back to the 5.
-Apps crash constantly without warning
-Network issues non-stop. Don't count on having available data.
-The phone is more slippery than a bar of soap. You cannot set it on a table because it will slip off after a few vibrations.
-The phone is fragile. Dropped it from 2 feet off the ground and the bottom corner smashed. Good thing I had screen protector. Why make a phone this fragile? It's unusable in any scenario unless you use a protector: Screen and body.
-The screen scratches super easily. I have a huge scratch on my screen just from taking it out of my pocket.
-The fingerprint sensor is the worst on any device I've used. It won't work. You have to basically set up several fingerprints with the same finger. God forbid your finger is wet or dirty because it won't work.
Overall I wouldn't recommend this phone. Even if there are software updates, the hardware is unacceptably fragile for something you should have in your pocket throughout the day.

The Pixel 6 has all the specs which should be in a flagship phone and it does give me good battery performance as well as CPU performance. I just love the color combinations of the pixel but I bought the stormy black because others were not available, the back panel scratches easily so I didn't want it to have more damage so I wrapped my pixel 6 with Gadgetshieldz phone skin wrap which is 3M vinyl material that is sturdy and gives enough protection for my phone. Now it looks so cool with the color combination of the skins I choose and I love the overall performance of this phone.

Dumpster fire of a phone. There's so many problems with it I don't even know where to start, just think of every feature of a cell phone and exclude battery life from the list of problems.

ElioX, 12 Dec 2021No. It is exactly like 3a XL and I love it. It is smaller t... moreElioX. I have something to tell you.
You know when I said S10 screen felt smoother (even slipperier) than my Pixel 3a screen, even though both are 60Hz? It's not (or not entirely) because S10 has faster performance than Pixel. It's because the screen protector I put on my Pixel 3a was a very bad one. It was made of gel rather than glass in normal protectors, and it would get scratched easily and not prevent cracks when dropped. Most of all, it feels RUBBERY when I touch it. So when I compare it to the S10, the S10's screen feels slippery. I even thought S10 had high refresh rate because of that. Today, I took the screen protector off, and OH, the screen feels so much smoother. I can only imagine how smooth 120Hz will be. Sorry for the misinformation!

You also started to sound similar xiaomi users when miui did stuff that people didn't like that some xiaomi users had to recommend a costume launcher. Btw Bixby assistance can be easily swapped with google assistance which from what I know so far is a better AI assistance, the only good thing I see people use Bixby for is Bixby routines
