If you want to buy this now please go for it, the gaming is fantastic, it is better than snapdragon's Adreno 650/660 and everygame you play is HD, all the heating problems has been resolved that's when you update your phone tho if you sit around complaining all day without checking for updates your phone will keep burning your fingers. My 6a is just warm now compared to the last few days without the lastest updates. If you truly want to enjoy this phone just update it whenever you find a new update. The fingerprint sensor now works which is awesome because I already gave up on that, the battery reduction/ SOT has now improved. This phone is still better than most depressing exynos from Samsung

Sarath7, 22 Apr 2023How is the charging time and battery SOT in Android 13?Pretty bad to be honest, I only have the phone for six months I wonder what will happen when degradation reaches a certain point in a couple of years.

Sarath7, 22 Apr 2023How is the charging time and battery SOT in Android 13?my SOT is not great but my device is never offline anymore, so it's always got things running in the background.
but I still get over 5hrs 30min SOT , even with apps always running, mainly communication apps which I allow full unrestricted background and battery access to.

Even when I am at work and my phone is not with me, it's online , never getting turned off and apps running

Bought for GrapheneOS and it's alright. I don't think I would have got it otherwise but fulfills most needs.

Fingerprint sensor can be slightly picky.
Screen is stubbon about auto maxing out brightness sometime.
The lack of headphone jack is a kick in the balls as always but it does support LDAC (No problems with a Quedelix 5K).
No wireless charging and speeds are outdated. (non-issue imo)
Yes, I'm old and will also complain about the lack of SD card slot and dual physical SIM slots.

It's a good enough glass slab otherwise and does everything else without fault.

I think you could probably shop around for a better phone at £300 if you're not interested in GrapheneOS. I didn't buy this phone for the phone and that's the point of this perspective. I paid for 5 years of software support if anything... (if that statement ages badly, feel free to make fun of me). BUT I have hope of not needing another phone for a while. It certaintly seems fast enough to live up to that support length.

If you want GrapheneOS, the devs reccomend this phone as a budget option and I think that's valid. I wish the entry point was lower but hopefully these decrease in price with the release of the 7a. Maybe the used market will be reasonable instead of being only around £20-30 less than retail then. Waiting a few months to save some money on this phone might just offset some of the drawbacks.

dsdhjkh, 07 Apr 2023no user replaceable battery, no headphone socket. No thanks. There are barely any smartphones out there with a user replaceable battery. So your argument is moot.

Overheating has nothing with being semi-custom Exynos SoC. It has everything with inferior Samsung semiconductor 5nm (5LPE) node process which is clearly inferior to TSMC, but you have to pay heavy premium for it which clearly Alphabet doesn't want.
Ignoring abovementioned node process, the main issue and weakness of Tensor SoC is (external) Exynos Modem 5123.

Anonymous, 11 Apr 2023is it warm where u live? This great heating is due to Samsung's Exynos chip. This chip has good heating and very low battery backup. Google is releasing it under the name Tensor. Exynos chip, Samsung itself has avoided this heating in the countries where it is produced. Snapdragon chip is used instead. Google cannot avoid this heating with that
