How... moretensor use 5nm while SD 870 still 7nm . every benchmark show its slightly above dragon variant, my brother pixel 6 perform very well. you want premium feels for phone that cost you 449$ ? dream on ! glass also prone to scratch and easily breaks when it falls. i say most people ok with 60hz, maybe not for you.

Jongjave, 24 Jul 2022Tensor 1 chip perform slightly above SD 870, whats wrong wi... moreTensor chip is made by samsung 5nm fabrication process. How can you even compare it to sd 870? It has overheating issues and is far inferior to sd 870. Adreno gpu > mali gpu. Same chipset as pixel 6 which face severe issues. Go watch any real life test and you will understand what i mean. Plastic back is prone to scratches and is less premium. Considering most phones have either metal or glass back. 60hz come on its 2022, 60hz is fine? The difference between 120hz and 60hz is night and day, even with not gaming and using it for media use, its hard to get back to 60hz. Hardware camera loses to its midrange price range. Gcam not being available is just an excuse. Also 6.1 inch oled is dull considering its oled not amoled but for its price is ok and only has corning glass 3

Outdated oled screen, 60hz, 18w charging, inferior chipset, plastic back, overpriced. Imagine getting a phone with these specs in 2022. Google needs to really focus on their hardware. Camera? If thats your main appeal, why go for this inferior sensor phone. Just get Gcam apk. Software? Who cares about >3 years software update if your phone is not even going to last for 2 years. A small trick by google promising updates. Even apple is far superior than google antics

notafanboy, 23 Jul 2022Headphone jack is ancient and obsolete for most people, sam... moreI'm going to break it to you, if you think keeping 3.5mm jack on phone is "hUrR sTuPiD dUrR" and ancient, then audiophiles and professionals are stupid enough to hear the high quality noise. The reason removing 3.5mm jack is stupid is not because of space, battery life, and water resistant, it's because of trend, profit and greed.

Most of the arguments like "obsolete", "wireless is the future" and "space" are and will be debunked. Let me show you with example on why these are debunked:

"But removing headphone jack saves space and need room for battery, so it couldn't fit the headphone jack to make the thinnest smartphone and make it more waterproof!"

False, take a look at Samsung Galaxy A72, it has 5000mAh battery yet it has a headphone jack and a MicroSD slot. A famous example is Strange Parts and this guy had modded an iPhone 7 with 3.5mm jack in China. You can watch it here:
                      https://youtu.be/utfbE3_uAMA

Here's Vivo X5 Max, it's one of the thinnest smartphone in the world with 5.1 mm thick yet it has a headphone jack. Here's LG Velvet has super slim bezels, curved screens, under the display fingerprint scanner and 4300mAh battery, yet it still has a headphone jack. The best part is Samsung Galaxy S5, which has MicroSD slot, removable battery and IP67 dust and water resistant, YET is still has a headphone jack. Even with the claims being true, removing a headphone jack just to make the phone able to survive underwater for longer isn't a good trade-off. I'm sorry but Phil Schiller's "courage" aged like milk.

"Wireless is a new technology and headphone jack is an outdated analog so it's time to stop living in the past, old man."

Let me ask you a question: Why does MacBook still has an ancient 3.5mm jack in it? It should be removed right? Well no, because like many other laptops, wired headphones are widely used by professionals. People like audio engineers, musicians, video editors, radio show hosts, artists, etc. heavily relied on 3.5mm jack because it's the industry standard and will always be, since it has less maintenance and more reliable. Apple wanted to keep a headphone jack on MacBook series because they don't wanna lose sales and professionals would've bought a different laptop if MacBook doesn't actually have a headphone jack.

Not only that, there are pro gamers who also heavily relied on headphone jack so they'll have to precisely aim against opponents in FPS games, otherwise some people will experience audio latency issues on wireless headphones whenever an opponent kills them instead. Can you imagine using a Meizu Zero (Holeless phone) as a daily driver in 2022?

Yes sure, you can buy a 3D spatial wireless headphone but most of them are compressed due to limitation of Bluetooth and its nature so they'll have to compress the audio or else they'll experience latency issues, and no, it has nothing to do with a lossless sound. Plus, a wireless headset with a battery has its own caveats like limited battery cycle. Yes sure, you can use a dongle all you want, but that would've be inconvenience because people don't want to lose the dongle so they'll just have to bring a dongle in order to travel through the train or the airplane. Shoot, even Sennheiser HD560s is cheaper than an expensive wireless headphones and better for budget professionals.

Is Bluetooth still the future? It depends, because Bluetooth had been invented WAY back in 1994 before cell phone became mainstream for Bluetooth. Did you know? One of the first cell phone with Bluetooth is Ericsson T36. Look, I'm no against Bluetooth in general but removing a headphone jack on a smartphone so people will be forced to buy a wireless headphones for profit is just a bad idea. I would not be surprised if some guy is going to debunk my reply. Call me a beggar all you want, we're all r/choosingbeggars.

How about SD Card? Is it unsecure to you? Is it slow to you? Is it obsolete to you?
The answer is all no. People would've bought faster MicroSD card from a trustworthy brand like SanDisk and secured it through encryption.

We're in a period of inflating costs.. not just for consumers but producers. Plastic makes sense for a mid tier phone in order to limit their cap-ex

At this price the only thing going for it are it's size, 6.1 is rare in this price segment. Idk how good is the SoC, so maybe thats another plus next to the camera, but are these things even a problem in 350-400$ price range, where you also get upgrades pretty much everywhere else
