In this phone you pay the pixel experience. The Google devices are about the software rather than hardware. Google have good phones the best ones cause of software. If you want hardware go for realme , xiaomi , oppo with crappy UI

Anonymous, 20 May 2022Yes. Higher refresh rates look better. That doesn't me... morePlenty of midrangers these days come with 90Hz AMOLED displays that still manage to have very impressive battery life, in most of them you won't notice a difference between 60Hz vs 90Hz in terms of battery life. Not just the lack of a HRR display, but the 6a also has a tiny battery.

These specs are worse than midrangers. I know its not all about the specs and numbers but, its disappointing.

6GB of RAM instead of 8GB (which should be the standard for today's flagship and midrange phones) and 60Hz instead of 90Hz are kinda disappointing. I applaud Google for putting last year's flagship chip in their midrange phone but the regular Pixel 6 seems like a better option for me at least.

Hello Moto, 20 May 2022And this phone is not a budget phone, its a mid-range phone... moreWhatever you want to call it, for me (from Europe) this seems like a budget phone.
It is still just a silly gimmick, many budget phones have silly gimmicks, that does not make or break a phone.

Anonymous, 20 May 2022Yes. Higher refresh rates look better. That doesn't me... moreAnd this phone is not a budget phone, its a mid-range phone. And every other phone in this price bracket has better refresh rates. Even some real budget phones ($150) have better refresh rates.

notafanboy, 19 May 2022Nobody mentioned battery life. We are talking about what &q... moreYes. Higher refresh rates look better. That doesn't mean it is a good feature on a budget phone or useful for people who want battery life.
It is the same for resolution, a 4K display on a phone looks better than a display with lower resolution, which doesn't mean every phone should have one, as there are real downsides, e.g. in cost and battery life.
It is a silly niche feature on a phone (which doesn't mean it makes no difference). Nobody should be upset over a budget phone not using it.

Dennis98, 12 May 2022Yeah, but there's no such thing as "no DAC" ... more> but there's no such thing as "no DAC"... is necessary for a USB-C (digital) to 3.5mm (analog)
I guess you are right. What I meant was those "passive" USB-C dongles that uses the phone's internal DAC to process audio instead of its own.
Also, I'd recommend the CX31993 as the best budget USB-C DAC. Costs only like $8.

If only its height would've been below 150mm, would've sold my pixel 6 pro for it in a jiffy. Disappointing to see Google not releasing a smaller sized phone, I know this one is not huge but still below 150mm height would've been perfect.
