PixelFan, 26 Nov 2021For my own understanding, does the renders leaking this ear... moreNo, Pixel 6a will be released in Q3, August or around when Pixel 5a was released. These leaks happen early because people like speculating. None of this could be true, or resemble the actualy Pixel 6a, even the design could be completely different to this. For now, the Gsmarena Pixel 6a page is just predictions.

PixelFan, 26 Nov 2021I too don't believe that 6a will get a 90Hz refresh ra... moreThey overcomplicated by putting 90Hz on Pixel 6. Why not put 120Hz? Even $300 Poco F3 has 120Hz. Then they could put 90Hz on 6a, and make it the best midranger.

DevWarehouse, 26 Nov 2021Is it worth it? Maybe not. But is your suggestion with the ... moreAre you saying that putting a 90Hz on the 6a will drive up the price, and for that price, the cameras won't be worth it? Well, in that case, they could upgrade the camera too. Remember, this sensor is going to be 5 years old!

For my own understanding, does the renders leaking this early on mean that the phone will arrive somewhere in Q1 or Q2 2022?
Or
do render leaks almost always happen this early on because phone designs get finalized months before the actual manufacturing starts?

ElioX, 25 Nov 2021I think no. As pixel 6 was high midrange with 90Hz, pixel 6... moreI too don't believe that 6a will get a 90Hz refresh rate.
But saying that you don't want one is odd. May I ask why you think the display on A series should be locked to 60Hz?
It'd make more sense that they ramp up the display on base Pixel from 7 & onwards to 120Hz. Even if they do that, the flagship a.k.a. Pixel Pro won't loose its appeal as it'd still have the added advantage of 120Hz.
The A series should atleast have 90Hz display in the near future (7a onwards imo). A good chunk of OEMs use 90Hz or 120Hz displays on their midrangers, so it doesn't make sense for Google to not do the same.

DevWarehouse, 26 Nov 2021Possibly, the 60hz isn't as promising but we'll o... moreThink about it this way. Poco F3 will be $200 a year later, when the Pixel 6a launches for $499. Poco F3 has similar 870 performance to Google Tensor, it even has better 120Hz Oled display compared to 60Hz on 6a, charging and battery suprisingly are similar too at 4520 mAh and 33W charging. Build too at Gorilla Glass 5 on both sides. Only thing you have to ask yourself, is the amazing camera on the Pixel 6a worth the almost $300 extra.

RandyRiffin, 25 Nov 2021P.S if not all the information on this Gsmarena page is cor... moreI think no. As pixel 6 was high midrange with 90Hz, pixel 6 pro was flagship with 120Hz, it would not make sense if 6a would have same screen as pixel 6.
There would be no difference other than screen size and camera. The rest would be identical. Doesnt make sense to me. Should be fixed at 60Hz. Hopefully. I don't want 90 Hz on A series.

As Pixel 6 even with the improved hardware didn't have that much better cameras than Pixel 5. Like photos were a bit contrastive, brighter colours punchier that's all. If Google uses the 12MP sensor they could still make a great camera phone, and save some money for Tensor.

RandyRiffin, 25 Nov 2021Same great Google Tensor in its glory ✅
SD870 performance... morePersonally, I think the battery capacity of 4800 is made up in the specifications page of this phone in GSMArena. There were no leaks about battery capacity and personally I think it would be very hard to fit that amount of battery. 4000-4500mAh range is possible though.
I would take any specification mentioned in its GSMArena page (as it is written to be unofficial) with a grain of salt (other than dimensions, cameras, physical appearance, and chipset) - i.e. WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, USB type, Sensors, fast charging and even the colors were just copied from pixel 6 info page.
P.S. They could have put any other camera, yes. But they work in software optimization. And it is very convenient when you have a set amount of physical specification change in camera. And their 12.2MP camera is still one of the best cameras in the price range of their A series phones. So, there is no argument there
