RandyRiffin, 25 Nov 2021Same great Google Tensor in its glory ✅ SD870 performance... moreP.S if not all the information on this Gsmarena page is correct, then does that mean hopefully the Pixel 6a will have 90Hz Oled instead of 60Hz? Fingers crossed.

ElioX, 25 Nov 2021Personally, I think the battery capacity of 4800 is made up... moreMaybe you could be right. As Pixel 6 even with the improved hardware didn't have that much better cameras than Pixel 5. Like photos were a bit contrastive, brighter colours punchier that's all. If Google uses the 12MP sensor they could still make a great camera phone, and save some money for Tensor.

ElioX, 25 Nov 2021Personally, I think the battery capacity of 4800 is made up... moreI agree with you for the don't trust GSM arena page fully part. But I think Google could put a 4610 mAh battery like they did with Pixel 6. Remember, Pixel 5 had almost 4100 in a 6 inch body.

Anonymous, 25 Nov 2021pixel 5 comes with 2 version pixel 5 & 5a now pixel... moreThere is no logic in your sentences.

You are comparing the trend of 2019 with 2021. You need to roll with the time.

They already are including IP rating to their A series since 5a 5g.

RandyRiffin, 25 Nov 2021Same great Google Tensor in its glory ✅ SD870 performance... morePersonally, I think the battery capacity of 4800 is made up in the specifications page of this phone in GSMArena. There were no leaks about battery capacity and personally I think it would be very hard to fit that amount of battery. 4000-4500mAh range is possible though.

I would take any specification mentioned in its GSMArena page (as it is written to be unofficial) with a grain of salt (other than dimensions, cameras, physical appearance, and chipset) - i.e. WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, USB type, Sensors, fast charging and even the colors were just copied from pixel 6 info page.

P.S. They could have put any other camera, yes. But they work in software optimization. And it is very convenient when you have a set amount of physical specification change in camera. And their 12.2MP camera is still one of the best cameras in the price range of their A series phones. So, there is no argument there

            4800 mAh battery ✅
            30W Charging ✅
12 MP Camera used in Pixel 5 ✅ (but they could have put a 30MP but whatever)
Cool Pixel 6 camera visor ✅

            IP Rating❓
Overall, we're off to a great start, we just have to wait for confirmation.

Anonymous, 24 Nov 2021Any rumored release date?Probably something around August to July, that's when the 5a was announced.

Darshan, 24 Nov 2021I really hope the 6a looks like the pixel 5. Pixel 5's... moreNo... Pixel 5 was literally plastic (on top of metal) but plastic nonetheless. Felt like recycled cardboard with a generic camera bump. This visor camera bar is definitely a bit too much, but at least it defines a Pixel design, like you look at it and you know it's a Pixel.

Yes, you could use your feet, but really we are lazy human beings. Chipset makes sure phone is fast and STAYS fast.

Not shitty 2MP ones but good 5MP ones. I own pixel 3a XL so I bought myself a clip on 10x/20x macro camera. It is awesome. You should try some time. Depth sensors are also useful. They get you real depth info so that portrait shots take less time. Even better is to have TOF sensor. That is very fast and is very useful for fast image processing time rather than computational portrait on pixel phones that can sometimes not find correct edges of the items/people.

About OEMs "ripping you off" - what can you do? Sit and complain or at worst case not buy their phones. Does it work for Apple? Maybe it works for Samsung? No, it doesn't. So, you can either roll with the time or use midrange or even worse, Chinese phones. I rather roll with the time and invest in a good audio jack adapter.

And no. Since all my devices have type c entry (including my lenovo Chromebook duet) I will stick an adapter to my headphones with a tape so that it is not lost and I can use it on several devices. High quality JBL headphones cost 14 eur in Germany. I can buy 2 and have an adapter in one of them all the time. Looks like a good deal for me.

PixelFan, 24 Nov 2021As expressed in my earlier post, I do hate the removal of t... moreIt's illogical to use TWS when you're at home sitting on your couch or lying in your bed. Especially in these covid days its very relevant.

I absolutely understand wireless is better choice outdoors. But even there, the TWS have rather poor/unreliable mic performance, as you said its not evolved enough. I'd recommend non-TWS wireless outdoors for better call quality.

ElioX, 24 Nov 2021battery draining is software issue fitting a higher batter... moreIt's a software and chipset thing. Those two determine how efficient battery life is. That's why s20 has it worse than s10 even though headphone jack was removed. Btw, phones with largest batteries typically have headphone jacks.

Yes, you can choose to carry around a dongle, an extra hassle. If you lose that adapter you're out of luck, lol.
Come on man, confess that keeping headphone jack causes absolutely no harm but removing it causes many. Stop justifying OEMs ripping us off.

What's even worse is many phones don't have headphone jacks but got useless macro cameras and depth sensors. Just shows it's all about ripping off customers, not improving the product.
