Booby , 24 Sep 2023Maybe they really are, I just personally don't believe... moreEveryone's story is different and this one is by far the strangest i came across. My wife drops her phone all the time and on non gorilla glass phone and only the screen protector has damaged. I'm taking about tiles, concrete, marble you name it and no screen cracked. Idk what you did to yours and honestly idk why you lie for something so stupid. Nothing can't be done besides you pay to get a new screen. They only cost 100.00 and its an oem. A screen protector that cost $200? 😂 that's fine

Loco , 23 Sep 2023First time i heard that. Can be an excuse or idk. Screen pr... moreMaybe they really are, I just personally don't believe it. I think screen protectors are just made to shatter with every drop, and then you pay another 10 for a new one. I drop my phones at least 20 times before I change them. Never had a broken screen. If I used protectors, that would cost me 200 bucks for nothing. Possibly, the small shards will cause the screen to crack at the second drop whereas without a protector, it would be fine. The only thing protectors save you from are scratches.

Now you saying that the screen protector didn't break but the screen did. That makes no sense at all. No i always carry my phones with screen protector and rugged case. I never ever dropped my phone because im very careful. When i put my phone in pants i make sure its in there secure before walking. I mean 2.5 feet just don't seem right for a crack. Especially you said screen protector didn't break but your screen did. I think your very full of it.

Loco , 18 Sep 2023bro it's made by front gorilla glass 3 and plastic bac... moreWell, that's why I bought it, thought it would be rugged. My OP5t has a battery issue, just lasts 2-3 hours, so no, I don't want to stay on this for too long. Anyway, God forbid, but if you experience the same thing would you be ok with the fact that it takes over 20 days to get the screen replaced? My point is that firstly just dropping off on floor indoors from 2.5 feet should not lead it to crack (screen protector didn't crack btw). Secondly even if it does, I expect quicker service, and an affordable price.

It has a screen protector, initially thought it was just that and removed it and got the shock of my life. But if it is the angle that made the difference it is still not acceptable

Kartik, 17 Sep 2023My Pixel 6a's screen cracked after it fell from just 2... moreMy dude you're unlucky. I've had mine drop a million times on tile floor and it's only got scratches and corner dents. Did you drop it on gravel? Stone edges can break any screen on a single drop.

My Pixel 6a's screen cracked after it fell from just 2.5 feet. I have had my 6 year old OnePlus 5t fall that way many times without a scratch. This is definitely poor build quality. Now the worst part was that when I tried to get my phone repaired I only found one service center in my state and that too of a multibrand service center where I ended up paying 850 for couriering the phone to another city to get it repaired, after waiting for over an hour. I live in Hyderabad, now if you guys can't afford to have a service center that actually works in Hyderabad just quit selling phones, period! Not just that, while the claim is that this phone is water proof, you cannot take it easy when water splashes on it. Also while I bought this phone considering it was 5g Google kept us waiting for 5g for a really long time without any proper communication.
The only thing that is good about this phone is the camera, but Pixel is my worst phone ever. I am back on my OnePlus 5t for the next month or so. And I am told I might have to shell out almost half the price of the phone to get the screen replaced.

Mike, 07 Sep 2023Agree with those who are (very) critical of the 6a. Besides... moreYour comment always points out to pixel 3a so stick with that and stop complaining about the camera. Where i disagree..sorry Maybe the pixel 6a isn't for you. Since im getting great results.

Agree with those who are (very) critical of the 6a. Besides higher network speeds that I never use, almost everything about it is worse than older phones I've had in the same price range. Tensor is terrible in efficiency and performance, with terrible battery life in deep standby and even worse with light screen-on use along with running much hotter. Its 'AI' gimmicks are almost never used for most and it should've never been released.
Performance/battery aside, I legitimately think the 6a is worse in almost every regard from my Pixel 3a. The Camera is AWFUL; focus/colors/exposure/flash are so badly implemented that it's a struggle to take reference pictures of smaller details like electronic PCBs. It's either glare from poor flash/exposure programming or completely washed out contrast/saturation that looks like a sepia filter making it impossible to make out printed text and details. My Pixel 3a never had these issues and my even older LG V20 took photos far better still. My Google Nexus 5 STILL took better pictures than the 6a. The settings are so dumbed down and basic that they can hardly be corrected.
Lastly, the case/form is annoying/uncomfortable with the bar protrusion on the back and is generally awkward to use compared to the 3a and others. The OS layout and UI is terrible compared to most other phone brands, with obfuscated and unintuitive settings and options. Google is CONSTANTLY adding and updating endless 'features' from apps to individual system packages that only make the OS and useability worse.
I barely use my phones expect to take pictures, so I could overlook how terrible everything else about the 6a is, but the Camera's software makes me seriously consider going back to my 3a and possibly just abandoning Android/Google alltogether in the future for an entry-level iPhone despite hating Apple and iOS. You will quickly regret getting this phone after the initial dopamine of buying something new.
