I haven't ever experienced what you mentioned, with screen dimming while gaming, is this some kind of bug I'm not aware of?
I've been gaming on the 6a for quite some time since I got mine (I bought it 3 months ago, yes pixel phones arrive really late in the Middle East as they aren't officially launched here).
I never found the 60hz screen troublesome for gaming, I also have an S22 Ultra and I can't really tell the difference between them when gaming using the touch screen, I assume using a controller and actually being able to pay attention to the whole screen may change my mind?
Anyways, I am curious about the temperature issues you mentioned, I never experienced them save for the warm body of the phone after 20 mins of gaming, but no dimming or slowdowns whatsoever?

What games... moreI'm my experience, playing even moderately demanding games such as real racing 3 results in overheat and throttling in about 15 mins or so. Also, the screen brightness lowers. Maybe it's the warm climate of Cyprus, maybe if you live in Scandinavia or Canada you'll never experience that.
Another reason why this phone isn't idea for gaming is lack of high refresh rate. I have up on playing some games I enjoyed on my previous device, which supported 120hz, because they felt so choppy on the 6a.
A third reason why it's not ideal for gaming is it's mediocre battery life, combined with slow charging speeds.
All that said, I still love the Pixel for entirely different reasons. Personally, I think gamers should go for a Poco or something like that.

What games are game did you have any trouble playing at all on your phone. Please inform me because I Stream and record while Playing games like Apex Legends Mobile, Call of duty mobile and Warzone Mobile with Top performance. Other than The phone having 6Gb of RAM (same as 4a) it's Mali G78 GPUs is one of the finest right under the news maliG710. Compare the pixel 6A CPU to a Snapdragon 888.
Not only does the 6A have a top CPU but it has an Octacore processor just the same as the One note plus 11 16gb ram model and all the other top gaming phones.
Add the fact that it's using the New tensor Chip and You have a phone that Is Amazing.for gaming
The only issue is warzone Mobile being lower fps but it's still in testing..
So how is this phone not ideal for gaming with a price tag like that?

It depends on what you prefer, but in my opinion the processor is much more important. I made a similar mistake 2 years ago when I bought a realme 8i instead of a refurbished galaxy s9.

im also thinking of the samsung a54 , i appreciate the clean and smooth ui experience , solid gaming ( NOT hardcore gaming cause i have the playstaion for that, i mean that its stable and not overheating ),reliable camera and the MOST important thing it can last for two years at least .
the only thing that i dont like about the pixel is the 60HZ screen
so , which one should i go for ? pixel 6a or samsung a54 ?

The images are overly sharpened and contrasty that's maybe what you mean. Honestly, this phone takes images that look closer to what I see with naked eye than any other phone. On the hype for pixels, I can only say that I love instant security updates, long term support, and vanilla Android without bloatware. Also, the 6a is the only small Android device costing below 400. If those are irrelevant to you, why are you even looking at a pixel?

Don't understand enthusiasm about pixels
I've tried a p6a. Thick, heat, battery drainer. Look cheap and weird gui experience, colors and all.
Full of little bugs, not user friendly "stock android" at all.
Camera yes sharp and edgy and detailed, but also very unatural and dull and "artificial". like high res but aliased 2d pictures.
Also flickers, I mean, by a lot. probably the worse about PWM.
I'm sure not the only one so I've to share. if you happy with it is fine.

I've had the Pixel 6a for about a week now. Based on my usage I can say with certainty that this is the best non-Chinese midranger within the 300-400 dollar price range. Every thing is pretty good except for the 60hz display and battery life. (The low refresh rate does actually help with battery life so that's basically the only good thing about the 60hz refresh rate) despite these issues I'd recommend this phone to people looking to upgrade from a less capable device.

I have purchased Pixel 6a for €199, the price was too good to refuse it. I still have my 4a 5g which is enough for me, but 6a deserves my attention too.
I am thinking of getting rid of 4a 5g and keep 6a which has a stronger battery life. I do not care/play games, have it as phone, some social stuff and read news, that's all. I like the finish, back plastic looks rather glass, it might be easy scratchable. I ordered a case from Amazon. Perfect size, good battery, display and processor, at a reasonable price, that's all I want, 6gb ram is enough. Very hard to replace 4a 5g because of aux.

Calling apps of MIUI Aand Samsung supports call recording though.
OnePlus phones will allow call recording but will inform the other end about the recording.

Happy as a clam for first two weeks then did security update late June. Phone was pretty well useless after that. Major connectivity problems as well as dropping calls. Did all the trouble shooting fixes as recommended by Google and community with no success. Google directed me to repair centre who tested connectivity for wifi. My phone was 12 mb/s compared to his (another brand) at 255 mb/s. Results slightly improved when he used Hotspot.
Other reviewers with same issue reported that unless your wifi/mobile signal is very strong, you are going to experience connectivity issues. Fortunately BestBuy refunded my purchase even though I was a day beyond return date. Really liked the phone so now looking at 7a.
