Do you know what RAW files are and how much time it yakes to batch process them even with a powerful PC? I guess not. So end of argument.

      You just acted like one.

All the cell phone cameras are about the same – All has pros and cons, which is subjective and up to each person’s preference (ex. You choose Sammy bloatware phone while many people think that their photos are over saturated and unnatural. If you prefer fakery photos, why do you not pic any phone and edit photos all you like in photoshop?)

Anonymous, 06 Sep 2023Pixel 7 is a cheap phone. If you're talking about price, yes, it is 'cheap' when compared to Samsung flagship phones and iPhones. But if you mean 'inferior quality' cheap, then you're obviously wrong. Just buy one and see for yourself.

You obviously don't own a Pixel to easily dismiss its low light and everyday photographic capabilities. It's got the best camera on a phone bar none. Not even the latest iPhones and Samsung flagships can beat it, at least in terms of photo quality and nailing the correct color, dynamic range and exposure most of the time.

Anonymous, 02 Sep 2023Actually, even in daytime, the Pixel 7 has better photo qua... moreThank you.
Yes, they look better on my monitor or TV, I adjusted settings on both of them for more natural look, but I still see difference when comparing with Samsung S21 or even older Samsung phones that I used in past.
I think problem is in Google software and its failure using 4 pixels to make 1.
Perfect kids’ faces have unnatural (cartoony) shadows, and on pictures taken under certain circumstances (light) sometimes they have black eyes.
I usually add brightness and warmth to get them better, buy it's annoying if I have to spend hours editing pictures which Google software ruined, and what is funniest thing I use the same app to do corrections.
Why pictures do not look the same as they look on screen before they’re taken? Why Google darken them?
To clarify my opinion about Samsung phones:
Samsung One UI has many features that Google won’t implement, and if you want them you must install 3rd part apps and give them permissions to access sensitive data. I’m not happy doing that, I’m rather to have it included in pure Android. Example: double touch to wake up and turn off the screen. Another example: changing resolution for non-important pictures to save memory. You need app for that, while in Samsung option comes with Gallery (Samsung’s Photo app).
                Bad about Samsung:
Samsung Bixby is hated by most Samsung users, should be optional. Even not being bad in my opinion, there’s no need for it. It uses hundreds of Megabytes.
In total Samsung takes Gigabytes of memory installing own apps that phone users do not like, and they’re affecting battery life big time. The battery gets noticeable worse after just few months of phone use.
Samsung ignores users’ opinion, not replying on questions and requests on their forum.
Samsung is overpriced too. It’s not bad option to buy last year’s phone; difference in characteristics is small, and they cost lot less.
At the end, I forgot to mention one more thing about Pixel 7. It is slowest reacting camera that I ever saw in action. To avoid blurry pictures because of that slowness I started using motion. If I use flash, it takes couple of seconds before picture is taken. Flash is useless. Luckily pictures taken under minimal light (even Moonlight) are beautiful.
I hope Google will correct some flows with future updates.

Anonymous, 05 Sep 2023Simple solution, go get a real camera and perhaps, take a c... morePictures taken by Pixel 7 are nothing but big lie, they're nothing special. Every brand on market has a phone at the same price range that can beat Pixel 7 in camera.
Camera is advertised as 50 megapixel camera, and it is not. We got 12.5 megapixels, pictures are too dark and colours are not natural (too much blue and purple). More brightness and warmth is needed, and if every picture has to be edited, what is point of overhyped software that is supposed to do that?

Anonymous, 05 Sep 2023Simple solution, go get a real camera and perhaps, take a c... moreWow, a mouthful from a clearly inexperienced person. Who told you I don't have a REAL CAMERA and multiple lenses and I don't have extensive knowledge in photography? Do you really think you can lug around a heavy dSLR in every social ocassion without ruining the fun and your own enjoyment? Do you really think you can capture lowlight shots HANDHELD with a dSLR and capture a wide dynamic range and large depth of field for low light landscape photography? A Pixel 7 can do that, in ONE tap of the shutter button but a dSLR can't. You'll have to dial down the aperture on the lens, and in effect, you'll slow down the shutter speed so much, you'll need a tripod or you get so much noise from very high ISO settings! And no, you can't use your speedlight flashes even if you have several of them. Add to that exposure bracketing, taking multiple shots of the same scene, and going home to your desktop PC to merge those bracketed shots in Photoshop to one HDR image and making color, saturation and exposure adjustments. Sure you'll get a vastly better photo doing all of that, but that's too much time and too much fuss for a photo you're not making money from.

In short, real cameras with interchangeable lenses have their purpose but for 99% of social and everyday photography, you absolutely don't need a real, bulky interchangeable lens camera with you all the time unless you make a living for every social or everyday photo you take or you just want to be a dork. That's why real camera sales are plummeting and mobile phone sales are increasing. People simply project their mobile photos on their 60", 75" or 85" 4K or 8K tv screens! And no, selfies are not most of those photos. Those projected on big screens are travel photos and videos, and social occasions and events. It is on those photo comparisons that you'll really appreciate the Pixel 7's photo supremacy especially in low light vs. other phones.

Just because I own a Samsung phone and use it as my main phone over my pixel phone doesn't mean I'm blind to its weaknesses. It is actually a very good phone and superior to the Pixel in many ways but photography is NOT one of them.

Colors are not oversaturated/overcooked. There's more color and shadow depth to photos unlike what happens in Samsung where you get overexposed shadows and clipped bright colors. The Pixel just nails the exposure right and you can clearly see the difference in approach to the Samsung when you compare them side by side, taking photos of the same scene, especially bright contrasty scenes and more so in low light.

You're probably just viewing photo comparisons in your phone. Try viewing them in a 28" or larger 4K monitor. Better yet, view them in an 85" 4K TV and you'll see what I'm seeing. I don't have an S22 ultra but I do have the S23+. My S23+ is my main phone simply because the Pixel 7 only supports slow 4G mobile data. 5G support has been intentionally disabled by Google for unsupported countries which practically means 99% of the rest of the world (outside US and a few countries) have to settle with agonizingly slow download speeds.

The Pixel 7 is so good with nailing the colors and exposure right, that's why even if I'm using the S23+ as my main phone, I actually use a sideloaded GCam app with Night Sight for most of my S23+ photography. I only use the S23+ default camera app when I need 3x zoom because the modded GCam app doesn't support it.

If low light image quality is important to you, and don't care about 5G, get the Pixel 7.
