I am wondering if they restricted the performance of small cores with software? Does this mean they can increase it with the future update?

There are few things: First, those scores are higher because small cores are at higher 2.15GHz clock and not 1.7GHz as per usual with G3. Second, Governor is named as "schedutil" and not "sched_pixel" as all retail P8 Pro models. So, it is either an overclocked model with higher clock speed, or test device with higher clock cores. Lastly, my P8 Pro is on latest November update and my phone scores around 1700/4500 as Cluster 1 cores are the same 1.7GHz as before.

Fan, 14 Nov 2023That's impressive, So it is equal to Snapdragon 8Gen2 ... moreNO, it is not equal to Snapdragon 8Gen just watch tests I mean real tests. It is still the same sh*t from Samsung, unstable.

Pixel is good if you want use GrapheneOS if not, If you don't care and use whole crap from Meta, TikTok ect. just get any phone.

                      GSMARENA team,
Please post some action shots(Volleyball/Tennis/golf or Moving pet shots), for which we generally use our smartphones . The shutter speeds of almost all brands except Google are real poor. They struggle a lot with action photos even in great lighting conditions. This feed back might help other brands to focus on action photos too.
We use our smartphone camera for People photos, pets, Kids playing and Portraits hen least last priority is ultrawide landscape photos.
We all know that subject cant always be super steady.
                      Thanks,
                      Yash

Signal is stellar for me, even getting a stable connection in buildings where I could not get any signal at all with my Xperia 5 II before. Might be different elsewhere tho.

I get the 1TB P8P and no problems so far. I traded in my 512GB P7P solely for the flat screen and better battery life. The screen and brightness is great. Battery life is slightly better, but has light-years to go to match my iPhone 14 ProMax. The cameras are better than iPhone, except night shots (not astro-photography) which suck compared to iPhone. The astro-photography however is excellent and iPhone has no equivalent. I should have waited for the Tensor 5 chipset in two years, but I really hate Android curved glass screens. I will never again own either a curved screen or anything with that childish malware called One UI.

I am more curious about the reception. The 7 has very poor reception, especially compared to even the $300 OnePlus Nord 30 5G. Did they address the reception issues of the 7 & 6?

If they looked the exactly same on the outside and both ran the same UI, you couldn't even tell the difference during use. Hypocritical bullcrap. "Hurr durr it's not the latest and greatest over kill spec with the ". Yeah cry me a river, at least it works and doesn't get in my way. Go ahead and get some garbage from Samsung instead. They're already dead to me for their KNOX BS alone. You're paying about the same or less for higher specs on paper, but you're also their slave and never actually own that device. Pixel? Slap on GrapheneOS and call it a day. Looking at hardware alone is utterly meaningless if you're more than an Apple drone that does as they are told. Maybe if you used your phone exclusively for gaming, you'd have a point. But otherwise, you just sound like a sheep that runs after higher numbers, even if they provide no tangible benefit. Just like the MegaPixel race. Yeah, cool 200MP. Gets binned down hard, obviously. For one because you couldn't ever use such tiny pixels without massive amounts of lights, for another because the file size would be insanely huge and fill up even a 1TB phone in no time.
Sure, I could get slightly better specs if I went for Samsung instead. Would even be a little bit cheaper. But it just isn't worth the downgrade in software.
