[deleted post]No, it's not, it's just not at the level of the top on the market! Part of the blame for this is the agreement they had with Samsung!!! Let's hope that by pixel 10 in 2025 they will become more up to date with the most demanding things on the market!! and of course it is not worth paying so much for a mid-range disguised as AI and things that many are not going to use

HelioG42069, 22 Aug 2024"says the person who's favourite phones are Nokia... moreWhen did I say I was a pixel fan huh? Number 1, I have a flagship Samsung phone that I'm happy with, number 2, Google doesn't even sell phones here in our country unless you want to import it. I was calling him out for criticising a phone that haven't even shipped at the time of his stupid comment, and learn how to read before spewing such nonsense about me being a fan. Fan or no fan, Nokia is more outdated than the pixel's which also uses some outdated hardware, I was just telling him the phone's he's interested in are even more outdated, not that I'm a fan of anything🤡

Mid range processing unit ok i can survive that but no bigger camera sensor and ufs3.1 still? All picel always struggled with how much time need photo in bad light condition same about video. Insted of useless termo sensor should put termal camera sensor woth or extra camera with 8x zoom . Had pixel 6 pro,7 pro,8 pro and now i switched to oppo find x7 ultra

Got mine on the 22nd of August. Replacing a 7 pro with a shattered back screen and what looks like two fingerprint smudges on the screen I couldn't get rid of. Setup was easy as pie. Screen outdoors it VERY bright. As far as design/color, makes no difference to me. I'm not into style. First thing I do is slap a Spigen case on them anyway.
I do prefer the flat screen over the curved screen. Haven't installed the beta 15 yet, which is showing up on the android beta site, probably will wait a couple days before updating to beta 15.
Otherwise, it works just as well as my 7 pro did...save for the shattered back screen & the fingerprint smudges or whatever they were on the screen.

I love the Pixel 9 Pro XL design. But the downside is the processor seems a bit midrange compared to other competitors like iPhone 15 Pro Max and Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.
Most mid range smartphones such as Vivo V40 Pro and Honor 200 Pro (which is about RM3500-RM4100 cheaper than Pixel 9 Pro XL) for the same storage size (512GB) can do much better performance despite it did have a 2x to 2.5x telephoto camera.
When it comes to the camera, yes, Pixel 9 Pro XL is much better when it comes to the camera.
Just the downside on most China-made smartphone is the software support up to 4 years of OS updates and up to 5 years of security updates.
I really hope the next Pixel phones can be on-par with iPhone and Samsung flagship phones in terms of performance. In other words, at least on-par with Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 or Dimensity 9400 in the future (which is both of the processor are coming up soon around late 2024 or early 2025).

it is a middle range in the whole rule!! let's wait for them to put it at 900 for black friday and get the 512 version of the color i like

                    This device is gorgeous

                      ufs 3.1? wtf

Replacing my 7 pro with the XL. Came Thursday morning. Scanned the QR code, transferred everything. Copied a few more files and after work I'll transfer the e-sim to the new one and I'm done. "oh, but it doesn't have the latest android". Yes it does 14 is the LATEST android...non beta.
I have 15 beta on my 7 and honestly, I can't tell the difference. So big whoop there.

                          Bluetooth 5.3 is a disappointment.
                          And it's missing Bluetooth codecs.
                          UFS 3.1 only?!
Well, Bluetooth speaker lovers will hate this phone and not the best storrage.
                          Sad.
They cut corners on a top end model.
                          Wow!!!
                          I would go all out.

                            UFS 3.1? what?

I was worried after the announcement that this would be a design change with very minor improvements but hoped reviews would change that view but unfortunately not. It’s got minor improvements in battery, charging, display, performance and cameras but nothing major which was required especially in battery and performance given what the competition is offering. Unfortunately the only major selling point this time around is the design and that’s not worth a £100 increase in price

Yeah i wonder which brand uses outdated tech... Oh yeah, google is still using those in house chipsets that are prone to overheating and the new G4 has less cores and runs at a higher clock speed instead! Thar definitely sounds like overheating to me, don't you think it's quiet strange that your "innovative" company still hasn't managed to fix their chips getting to hot and unstable when running heavy workloads? Though i agree that the other person you were replying to might have been in the wrong given that the phone hasn't even shipped yet and reviewers are... Well you know how they are, i still think it's ridiculous to make fun of other companies when the one single company that you're a fan of can't do a lot of things right either.

Karmadhi, 21 Aug 2024So, the latest Pixel has last year's Android? That... moreIt has "last year's android" because android 15 isn't even a thing yet, it's still not released. How have you not realised yet?

Charging time is very bad, very slow. When the others company have 80W, 100W, 120 W or even more, you offer only 37. That's a loss for the company.
