Samsung and Apple pay big loads to promote their products not only on TV ads, but in stores as well. How many times do they try to sell you a Samsung if you wanna go for Android? 10/10. LG phones were always tucked away in a small corner, with Sony and some other brands like Motorola, Nokia and the then not so large BBK group brands. Big displays with Samsung phones and Apple devices catch your eye, the salesman or woman starts to sell you one of those right away. Besides, most people who buy phones are ignorant, they dont visit gsmarena on daily base and they don't follow phone news, they simply just want a phone and if the salesman says it's a good one, well they buy 'em. Not knowing more brands other than Samsung and Apple exist.

Google had said putting the bezels was an intentional decision.
In order to make the phone slim, they have to sacrifice some screen space for the other components and this have bezels.

They source components for the chip from that exynos line but they've also integrated quite a lot of the ASIC design they pushed out through Coral into the Tensor chipset.

If that were not it Google will launch the Pixel Fold which is essentially a foldable Pixel 6 pro (same Soc)
