Hey, i've got an idea, pixel 8's camera design is gonna look like this, the island is not gonna go from one end to the other. What do u think, they gave an hint with the pixel fold

you may as well buy clasic design with better cameras and bigger tablet for that price.
I just miss that feature which is at 2. place of value to me...

Just buy a $200 nice little tablet and $300 for a good phone and spend the rest $1.5 for something actually useful. You can thank me later.

$1,800 for a device running software designed for 12 yr olds? Google. learn that Device (harddrive) is above Downloads in file hierarchy and spare us the wasted space used to show folders which group files by extension. We aren't 12 yr olds.

Rixy, 22 May 2023Damn brother do you use 200mp everyday? besides its a fun p... moreAs I use camera/s everyday, I care a lot. 200mp is not really useful as a resolution, but as a sensor it outs higher quality 50mp and can do some quality 12mp at 2x zoom.
Folded/rolled phones are certainly great as portable tablets, not so much as nxt lvl cameras.
Just imagine how thick a phone is with new cameras(thickness at camera hw part) and folds are basically halving the thickness(and weight) to not make it a brick.
But its just kind of design that is being used now, huawei of the past made 2 different ways of folding with cameras in mind.
Not sure what happened, but this way do not expect all people to move to folds.
Even more with classic design bringing more and thicker cameras.
Dead end, which also do not make me happy as I like new tech but its impossible. Its basically camera-crippled.
Not to mention 3 way folding or bigger screens, this design is just too limited for camera thickness and battery life.
Maybe there is no future for light device as we are in this media oriented age, cameras not to mention battery performance with always bigger and bigger screen. About time we started to wear a phone differently, my pants are at limit with 6.8'' and I obviously want more...

Is this device supporting Desktop mode with a dock?
Such devices without Desktop mode are not worth their money

No "200mp" cameras, "15x zoom", what to expect from foldables crippling most important feature in phones.
                  And increasing price...
Lol that rich companies, unable to bring useful product in style of mateX2.

You can literally get a foldable phone like this for cheaper.
Get some masking tape from the dollar store and tape two phones together. And voila! Save $1650

My main complaint on my Galaxy fold was how narrow the closed phone was and to watch a full screen video I had to rotate the phone. I had the fold 2,3,and currently 4.

What is this correct? 139m folded? It is shorter than a Pixel 4 XL. It's shorter than a Galaxy S5 and its 79m wide? Does not sound right. The dimensions are correct, they are posted at Google website.

                                It’s correct. Height is 139-ish
                                The width is 79.5 * 2 = 159-ish

What is wrong why Google can't have 6000mAh battery on this phone. Not en up to 5000.

I'm old. Nokia E90 and E7 old. So now we are having a new cool form factor that should be great for a business point of view, when you are (often, I must add) requiring a ultra small computer. And for this particular need, these devices are calling the shots, like the E90 in the past.

So, great specs, great use cases, and for the proper user (like me), a great solution... until you check the cameras. And nowadays it seems they are making the same awful choices of the past, putting "just good cameras, but not the best" on this kind of devices.

Who told you that as an executive I don't want to take a great picture with my extremely expensive device? I would expect from these devices to have everything at its best, not just "good enough".

That's why I never got an E7 / E90 or any cool device like that in the past, and now it seems that even though I'd like to have one of those, not having a top-notch camera is just a shop-stopper.

Please, stop thinking we don't want it ALL
