Hasselblad True Zoom MotoMod announced with 10x optical zoom and Xenon flash
The much-rumored Hasselblad MotoMod is now official and it's called True Zoom. Like all MotoMods, this is an accessory that snaps onto a Moto Z, Moto Z Force, or Moto Z Play handset through magnets. Unlike other MotoMods, this one is all about letting you capture stunning images.
That's because it comes with a dedicated lens with 10x optical zoom (f/3.5-6.5 aperture), as well as a proper Xenon flash. There's a dedicated shutter button too, and the design of the Mod will make your Moto phone look like a standalone digital camera - at least from the back. RAW image capture is supported, and you also get physical zoom controls.

The Hasselblad True Zoom MotoMod will become available next month for a recommended retail price of $299 or €299, depending on where you live. That said, Verizon will be selling the accessory for just $249 (and "for a limited time" when you buy a MotoMod you get 50% off another one). Pre-orders in the US start on September 8, with the release date being September 15. The exact day could differ in other regions of course.
If you purchase the True Zoom accessory you will receive free access to Hasselblad's Phocus software for "streamlined editing control and the highest quality output". Oh, and one more thing - free unlimited storage on Google Photos at original quality for two years.
