Rex Tech, 23 Apr 2017I have noticed Honor 8 and p10 lite use LTPS screens.I have... moreyour search is incomplete. i have other phone still good for almost 2 years with crisp display. The heating problem is not on the screen. so for lifespan it depends on your device. the only problem in LTPS why it is cheap is the brightness. their brightness is limit but in exchange their display is more accurate.

I have noticed Honor 8 and p10 lite use LTPS screens.I have searched it online and on wikipedia and it said this:
"Amorphous silicon TFTs have been widely used in liquid-crystal display (LCD) flat panels because they can be assembled into complex high-current driver circuits. Amorphous Si-TFT electrodes drive the alignment of crystals in LCDs. The evolution to LTPS-TFTs can have many benefits such as higher device resolution, lower synthesis temperature, and reduced price of essential substrates. However, LTPS-TFTs also have several drawbacks. For example, the area of TFTs in traditional a-Si devices is large, resulting in a small aperture ratio (the amount of area which is not blocked by the opaque TFT and thus admits light). The incompatibility of different aperture ratios prevents LTPS-based complex circuits and drivers from being integrated into a-Si material.Additionally, the quality of LTPS decreases over time due to an increase in temperature upon turning on the transistor, which degrades the film by breaking the Si-H bonds in the material. This would cause the device to suffer from drain breakdown and current leakage, most notably in small and thin transistors, which dissipate heat poorly"
Source:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Low-temperature_polycrystalline_silicon
So according to the text additionally, the quality of LTPS decreases over time due to an increase in temperature upon turning on the transistor, which degrades the film by breaking the Si-H bonds in the material. This sounds quite terrible for this device.
Due to the glass build and quick charge, this device was heating up quickly during charging and heavier gaming and multitasking.Does it mean the screen will lose it's quality or ?
I mean,it seems Huawei uses IPS LCD with LTPS on most of it's expensier devices like P9,P10 and Nova plus but LTPS on it's cheaper phones like Honor 8 and p10 lite.
My questions are:
1.If the LTPS thing is true, will this device won't handle 3 years of usage ?
2.Will the device lose quality of it's screen on a bigger factor ?
3.Should i save a bit more money and spend it on P9 since it doesn't have an LTPS screen ?

AnonD-659154, 19 Apr 2017Hey, I need your help. I came from LG G4 but now it's dead ... moreRegarding to your story i see so you are still newbie in device. There is BIG Difference between honor 6x and honor 8,
1st is the chipset or processor used, in honor 6x they use Kirin 655 that is using the lpddr3 but in honor 8 they use kirin 950 that use lpddr4 (CHECK the different KIRIN here : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HiSilicon)
2nd the GPU T830 on honor 6x and T880 on Honor 8, for additional the mp2,mp3 or mp4 is more like a Core. mp2 means 2 core GPU (CHECK the different MALI GPU here : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mali_(GPU))
3rd Camera, honor 8 have laser focus that honor 6x dont have it,. it use for more fast focus.
try to compare it to your self

Hey, I need your help. I came from LG G4 but now it's dead because of the bootloop problem, I need a phone with an updated software, great camera and a good battery. I'm really hoping that it will last at least 2 years. I only have 400 euro as a budget. I'm choosing between the Honor 6X and Honor 8. In my country the Honor 6X is 150 euro cheaper than the Honor 8, which costs 400 euro. Do you think those 150 are really worth it? 'Cause I don't see much difference. To be honest I'm afraid of the materials of the phones, they look fragile and I can't see any cases here in my country. Can you please help me? Thank you in advance.
