The Honor 8 is abandoned by Huawei. Google the Honor 8 (device code: FRD) Firmware Finder to see what firmware updates are on their servers for it. The last one is from March for China. China always got updates first, then Asia/Europe, then, sometimes North America/Australia. The customer service people won't know what's going on with development in any country. If you've worked in customer service you're familiar with having to deal with customers while having no special information and not being told anything by the company.

I Contact to UAE Hi care & they told me it's you have to waiting until the andriod oreo update arrive to middle east even some countries have andriod pie!
so how can I get the oreo update & which hi care (country) should I text to help me?

Use the chat feature on that app, they would ask you some key information for your device, such as build number, IMEI, serial number, name address etc. and then release the update for your device.

if you want the latest update then:
1. go to settings, find updates and force download latest complete update package, this will reinstall Android 7.0
2. after it's done connect the phone to your computer and check for latest update using HiSuite and it will find the Android 8.0 update
we managed to update 2 Honor 8 phones like this, so I hope it will help you :)

Yes, but only with PC and official Huawei program https://consumer.huawei.com/en/support/hisuite/ (HISuite).

Then You have 8.0.
Tapping 'update' directly on phone doing nothing / saying that 7.0 is the newest version.

Build Numbe... moreYou need to do a security update of android 7, there is a choice in the update meny that says "get the latest full package", choose that and the download will begin OTA and upgrade. Once you've done that, connect the phone to your computer using HiSuite and the system will recognize that android Oreo is available, start the download an upgrade, good luck :)..

Switched from iPhone 7 to an Honor 8 (had one laying around), did an security update for EMUI 7, and after that update i got the option to update to EMUI 8 through HiSuite. Really snappy device with the new OS, made a huge difference in every aspect.
Im new to Huawei and Honor, and i must say i really like the eco-system, reminds me alot of ios but is android, awsome!

If you get stuck with with comment that your software is up to date there is a setting in system update that says "get the latest full package". If you try that the phone should probably start downloading rev. 412 OTA. (I had this problem myself and was stuck on rev .405) Once you uppgraded the Androind 7 to this level, connect the phone directly to your computer and HiSuite will sence that there is an uppgrade to Android 8 Oreo. Download and upgrade :)..

They should be joking, what kind of hardware are they selling if the upgrade to this equipment is not ready on Nov. 22, 2018 oreo update on other brands without this great hardware come now in their obligation ......... I'm very sad ... what kind of smartphone is this?

Android 8 Oreo is available for the Honor 8, just not OTA. Download the official Huawei Program called HiSuite, connect your phone to your PC and you will be able to update your phone.
