Today I got september 2020 update , but is just security pach, no other improvements, no camera update nothing. I buyed this phone in december 2018. I don't read comments on Samsung A51, i just saying that is far better than honor 8x. And you get updates with camera improvements, and other fixes. So why you should buy honor 8x in 2020?

    Ah, and now I have to correct my previous post where I wrote that is with security patch level August 2020, because a little while ago I got a new update security patch level September 2020, , 10.0.0.233- 108mb and that it is Honor and they care for users.

      I have to admit that your comment is strange and the comparison with samsung which surprises me because if you look at the comments for samsung a51 you will be disappointed with the current problems with it and as a comparison for a phone that costs about 400eur and cheap plastic is still used it is incomprehensible. I used samsung before honor 8x and model s4 for which I paid 450eur and now a little about software upgrade means after a year and a half I got an update from 4.4 to 5.1 and from then phone started to mess and sometimes it freezes and i have to restart the phone to unfreeze and then it works like an old grandmother, but that's not the end you have to change the batteries every 5/6 months because it's so bad it gets over your head. Now for Honor 8x exactly when I bought it 22 months ago it was android 8.1 - now it's android 10. and security patch august 2020 and applications except on sunday are updated by 5-10 of them every day, the look is a story in itself with the last 16 canvas back glass that spills into daylight then great software and without a single time did not show the backlog and still the quality of construction in an aluminum frame that holds all the components firmly and finally with a camera that you can only wish for, because every camera suffers from poor light or night photography but The Honor 8X can do those long-exposure handheld photos the most expensive Huawei P and Mate phones can do, so The Night Mode pictures are great with enough detail and it's definitely a big advantage.
      I wonder if you at all you have an Honor 8x or you just commented on it.
      And finally as if I do not intend to discredit you, because everyone has the right to their opinion, and it is mine that if I need to buy a phone now, then I would buy it again even on the old one if he can't be found in the store.

          Yeah right, honor 8x is an old phone, after 2 years of usage, i don't recommend this phone, is laggy, and no more update. My wife use Samsung A51 and is far better at anything than this honor 8x and offer 3 years updates.

            unbelievably, my phone fell out of my pocket as I was walking in the rain in a muddy water whirlpool and I barely found it after half an hour ringing with another phone, i saw in the whirlpool that real dams I kicked my hand in the water and found it a miracle the phone is still it works then after a few minutes I turned it off. later I beat him on a cloth to get water out of it and left it in the rice for two days.An hour ago I decided to test it to see if it would work ,, and it works it's a miracle Honor forever.

                      Is there anyone knows how to make huawei 360 camera work with Honor 8x? I tried many of type C to micro usb adapters, but it didn't work with any of them, while it worked with sony XA Ultra, wich is much older than 8x.

                        CamG55, 07 Oct 2020Hey guys..im looking for a budget phone and one of my choic... moreHonor 8x from android 8.1 came to android 10.0, I don't know any other phone that got this kind of upgrade, then for security patches, my friend gets the latest update in time and applications are updating every day, amaising so this is the best choice, and also that it has the best 'support' of any other brand , that's why I have 2 of these because I'm very satisfied, for example I bought for my wife a 'xiaomi redmi note 8' because she liked the pearly white color, ok it's not that bad,but so far it has not received any android upgrades it stay on 9.0 so far 7months, either and applications are rarely updated but go and read the comments, bad,,, but Honor 8x everything work smoothly and perfectly, greetings.

                          Its amazing device, but the problem is that this year is the last year for receiving updates from google, you won't receive any system update, for security patches either.
                          Go for RN9 pro or Poco X3 NFC, and for sure you'll be in safe side for two to three years with system and security updates.

                            Hey guys..im looking for a budget phone and one of my choices are the honor 8x, i know this phone came out in 2018 but if i buy it now in 2020 will it be worth it? And how long would it last me? ( The phone is on takealot so im assuming its still factory sealed)

                              This is an amazing device, i am using this device since 21 months for everything, work, emails, social media, documents editing, printing, photography and photos editing, web browsing, casting, gaming, amazon prime video, literally for everything, and there is no lacking at all.
                              - the processor is still capable of handling - almost - everything, i am a heavy user, i have 190 apps and its running perfectly.
                              - the camera is very good for photos, for videos it is good if it is a non moving video, otherwise it will be a bad idea of capturing a moving video with this device due to image stabilization lacking.
                              - stereo sound recording is an amazing feature, i don't know why no one talked about it, you can connect an external microphone and start recording video with the built-in camera app, it's an amazing feature for vloggers.
                              - good battery life till now, i just changed the battery before one week at Huawei service center because there was an offer, it was 10 usd only here in UAE, but the previous one was fine without any issue.
                              - receiving the security patches before the others is something really will make you satisfied.
                              - i think this is the best ips lcd 60hz screen till now, considering the direct sunlight contrast ratio and the brightness, its really a very good screen.
                              - it is really looking classy and beautiful device till now.
                              - two sim cards + micro sd card is my need, i am using 400 gb sandinsk extreme pro and its running extremely well, i was thinking to upgrade to Samsung A71 or Redmi Note 9 pro, but at the end, 8x is covering my needs and working excellently till now and there is no reason to change it.
                              - the built-in photos editing tools are really usable amazingly, just try to play with it once, and you will never leave it, it's just amazing, making the photos extremely better with an easy way.

                                  If you did not get the latest update, then you can download and install Android security patch level 10.0.0.224 August .1 2020 via Hi Suite, it takes a little longer maybe about 30/40 minutes but it is safe.
