London1969, 19 Jan 2025It's not about getting fried lol it's about UK / ... morei dont get it.....if it failed the test than it should have a problem......and the refreshed model isnt even confirmed yet because we dont have the serial number yet......its confirmed we gonna get 5 magic 7 phones this year and the last one is either magic 7 with bigger battery or magic 7 ultimate

    I need new phone, 19 Jan 2025well even if we say thats true than chinese models shouldve... moreIt's not about getting fried lol it's about UK / EU getting a smaller battery 5270 obviously by making the battery smaller the problem is not there but don't you think that Honor should of made sure the shielding in the phone was ok for the 5850 battery first in the UK / EU .. Now Honor are bringing out a refreshed magic 7 Pro with a 6000 + battery in April .. Maybe Honor should have followed the RF shielding rules of the EU as they did with the Honor Magic 6 Pro and Honor Magic 7 lite ... There has been a mistake somewhere with the Honor Magic 7 Pro otherwise it would have the bigger battery in the UK/EU

          I need new phone, 19 Jan 2025how did you found out? Few people on the net said a journalist looked into it and that is what he found out.. But that's what I heard but like I said 1. Why is battery smaller than last year 2. Why did CEO resign day of release of the EU/UK Honor Magic 7 Pro 3.why is Honor bringing out a refresh Magic 7 Pro with a 6000+ battery in April .. 4. Honor magic 6 pro ( 5600 ) , honor magic 7 lite (6600) , OnePlus 13 (6000) and other makes have not got a problem with a their big batteries in the UK/EU , Only the Honor magic 7 Pro did in the EU/UK and I heard it was because of the RF shielding and why the £300 discount voucher why so much off is it they know more than they are saying.. it's clear something is not right

                Krystle, 19 Jan 2025What exactly are the EU regulations that forced Honor to ha... moreand your are repeating the same stuff again....ok than give me a reason why would they sell the phone with better battery and charging brick outside the EU?( and UK is still in EU continent while 95% of its regulations are the same as the EU if you dont know....idk why you bring up brexit which is barely 5 yeras old rule like that gonna stop UK from following EC union standards after 62 years)

                and about your opinion about innovation i still dont know why you start hating on honor and then blame the whole industry.......just dont buy a phone than because doesnt matter its iphone or chinese brands or samsung, at the end they just became cash grabers following iphone foot steps being greedy......chinese brands at least try to change and improve some stuff but at this point samsung and iphone are selling repackaged models for the last 3 years with exact same set of sensors and design and even battery is the same

                  Maybe a better Honor Magic 7 Pro with the bigger battery ( 6000 ) in April 2025 EU / UK ? So has Honor realised their mistake with the Honor Magic 7 Pro release in Jan with a downgrade to the battery

I was going to get it but decided not to because of the downgrade , I have the Honor Magic 5 Pro ... What I've seen is this the Magic 7 Pro did not pass the shielding test in the UK/EU so Honor had Two options completely change the inside of the the shielding or put a smaller battery inside , they decided to take the cheaper option and downgrade the battery... The Honor magic 6 pro had a bigger battery with no problems and as you said many makes of phone have a bigger battery in the UK/EU and to top it off when the Honor Magic 7 Pro was released in the UK/EU the CEO of Honor resigned , bit strange that , so if it's true about the Shielding on the Honor Magic 7 Pro then it's Honors mistake not the UK/EU regulations..I have never know a new flagship phone with any make get a smaller battery than the years before flagship it's either the same size or bigger never less

Please provide the exact name of the law, the article and the paragraph that prevented Honor from putting the same battery in this phone as in the Magic7 Pro in the rest of the world. How come these regulations did not affect other manufacturers, who put the same batteries for the whole world?

                          The answer is: No, the EU laws are not the problem. Moreover, the EU laws do not apply in the UK (heard of Brexit?), but the Magic7 Pro battery for the UK is also 5270 mAh.

                          The question of innovation that I raised is a completely different issue. It mainly concerns the design, and some technical details. No, I do not think it is particularly innovative that a whole bunch of manufacturers are making phones that place the cameras in a big cyclops eye on the back of the phone. They look like clones. The lack of imagination is obvious. Also, the notch is annoying when watching videos, and the big pill is even worse. This should be removed, not increased, so that we can fully enjoy the beautiful screen. How they do it is not my business, let the manufacturers deal with it.

                            Krystle, 18 Jan 2025I have to admit that Honor has proven to be very inventive,... more-about the down grade of the battery in EU is about tax not innovation and lower models like magic 7 lite dont get that kind of tax on them probably.....you can see the same story about every other brand
                            -i still dont know what you mean about a phone being innovative ......honor made the first Si/C battery and it uses intresting tech in their phones like 3 extra dedicated chip for management of different aspects of the phone or ToF sensor or its own UI skin......i think its pretty intresting
                            -and about the price and design i really like it i ordered my magic 7 pro from china for 1000 USD for 16/1T config 10 days ago and i like the smooth pill shaped design
                            it seems you like compac shape phones so you can buy a sony xperia 1VI or this years 1VII for only 1500 EUR(1650 USD)........you know its EU tax problem that phones other than apple and samsung cost a fortune right? like why honor is 900 USD in saudi with a charger and 5850mAh battery but 1200 USD in germany?blame your monopolized rules and than you can enjoy it too

                              same 8 elite chip will have less battery than s24+, only 4.900mah

                                I need new phone, 18 Jan 2025oh than...what brand is innovative? this gonna be exiting too seeI have to admit that Honor has proven to be very inventive, installing a Si/C Li-Ion 5270 mAh battery (only for Europe) in the Magic7 Pro (they are selling this thing for €1300 here), which is weaker than last year's battery in the Magic6 Pro, justifying this by aligning it with EU standards, while at the same time releasing the Magic7 Lite with a Si/C Li-Ion 6600 mAh battery (also in Europe). We're not all sheep here in Europe.

                                Also, as the GSMarena review states: "not a significant enough update to the otherwise pretty appealing 2024 model". I agree.

                                Additionally, why do all the phones look the same? Here's a new hype: a giant cyclops eye. And why are the holes in the screens getting bigger? What's the point of a beautiful screen if it's ruined by a hole for the selfie camera? It's 2025, they should try to solve this in some other way.

                                        So another boring, generic, blatantly overpriced phone with a big cyclops eye design, like a bunch of them these days (Xiaomi, Realme, OnePlus, Vivo etc.), why do they all look the same? Invasion of clones.

                                        Basically the same phone as the Magic 6 pro last year, just with a worse battery for EU (5270 mAh). How stupid do these manufacturers think we are? If only they had removed (with UDC or something) that awful selfie camera hole, so we could really enjoy the beautiful big screen.

                                        Nothing revolutionary. No substantial innovations here, just a bit of AI gimmickry. Laziness and lack of imagination, nothing magical here.
