great phone...
I replaced my p8max for the honor note. It's slicker and I get way better reception on my carrier. Always check willmyphonework.com before buying to make sure and they were right in telling me i would have better reception on my carrier than with the P8max.
I like the screen a little less than the P8max because it doesn't handle low light as well but nighttime battery management is fantastic so there is very little drain when not in use.
Pet peeves - Nova Launcher doesn't play as well as with P8max, perhaps it's Android V. 6 fault. So I ended up using EMUI which isn't all bad. Voice wakeup which was available in english on my chinese p8max is only available in chinese on the honor note 8. The smart draw feature which was working on an off screen with the p8max doesn't work if the screen is off on the honor note 8.
All in all I'm pleased with it and I feel better with the improved reception...

    I think that its better just only because bigger screen. If You need not bigger screen, there is no point to buy Note 8

                        Riffy13, 23 Sep 2016It didn't come unlocked?it is "sim unlocked" so it's usuable anywhere. the other user used dcunlocker for "unlocking the bootloader", which is a different thing.

                                    I purchased the phone from http://www.vopmart.com/cs2013840.html. It was shipped to U.S. via DHL and I received it within 5 days. Excellent phone. Fast, smooth and great screen. BIG!!!. I did the unlock with dc-unlocker.com. I put in the T-Mobile sim card and had no problem at all connecting. Added all of the Google stuff that I'm use to and I am using the phone with no issues. Great phone.

                                      Hi guys..just got my note 8 yesterday and it is really awesome everything is grest.but I have the Chinese version so I can't create huawei ID to download themes and so on..and want to get rid of the Chinese apps too..does anybody know how to do so..

She's on my family plan on T-Mobile waiting with a recalled Note 7. She's been complaining about how small the loaner S7 is. LOL

                                        I'm confident in the hardware of the device from what I've seen on youtube. It's the software side I'm less confident in. If it's just install the play store from their app store... should be golden! Still looking for a root method too.

                                        As for the ebay seller... reported that crap! Not that it'll do any thing. Went back & saw they have been doing this for years from the reviews. Will also give a bad review after I get it. Rather pissed about it currently. But... If it's a good fit for my mother, I'll order the 2nd one from Ali & save a bunch of money doing so.
