Got an answer from Honor about a US release that sounds like there is no plans for one:
We have nothing official stating that the Note 8 is coming to the U.S. We advise that you follow our Twitter (@Honor_USA) and Facebook (usahonor) pages for future device releases. If we release the Note 8, it'll be announced there. We can't speak on international devices. If you have questions regarding Honor international devices, we advise that you contact our international support team at hihonor.com/global. (ED)
Thanks for the info Anon! I went ahead & ordered one off of ebay.

I inserted a T-Mobile sim card, and the phone switched to English automatically, nothing is in chinese, I am not sure why people saying that some apps (or others) are stuck in chinese.
As to the size, it is a BIG device, but it fits my pocket, not heavy, feels good on hand, and after I play games and watch videos with this, I CAN'T GO BACK to a smaller device... LOL.

I am with T-Mobile, and I have HSPA+ (this is some what between 3G and 4G). I tested it on watching a HD movie, no lag at all. the download speed is more than 700 KB/s, so guys, don't worry about the 4G Lte, I mean, 700 KB/s is really enough for you to do most of the things.

They are not saying much about any other release other than their current China release. I've asked on both Huawei's & Honor's facebook, forums, twitter, etc... Not one answer. Nothing about a international version or US version or no plans for anything but China. Nothing! They're kinda missing a window here in the US with the Samsung battery news & the Phab 2 releasing soon.
I wonder if you could get by on 2G or 3G in the US with this phone on T-Mobile or AT&T. WiFi is around a lot, but not everywhere. Hate to have to get one of the Phab 2s when they come out, when this phone has such better specs & looks.

Looking at the specs... it only has LTE 1, 3, 7, 38, 39, 40 & 41
In the US we use.. 2, 4, 5, 12, 13, 17 25, 26, & 41. That's only one Sprint band that overlaps. :-(

Just got the phone 2 days ago. Haven't tested the camera fully yet. Everything is great, lots of simple and useful customization options.
The biggest problem I can find, can't use 3g / 4g on both sim cards. Only 1 which is a bummer.
