Have this phone since it came out, never updated to 8.0 cause of bad feedback. Works like it did the first day. Quality and battery wise a very good phone.

Absolutely great phone. I switched from the htc m8 to this back when this came out spring of '16. Have had a hard time moving on because there's literally nothing wrong with it 3 years later. It has a fingerprint reader on the front so i dont have to pick it up everytime to unlock it. It has expandable storage for up to a 1TB micro sd card (which now that it's 2019 actually exists). HTC Sense UI isnt for everyone but i absolutly love it. Another thing to note is that it comes stock android instead of running all their own htc apps. Takes decent low lights as well as auto focused selfies(which still isn't being implemented in all phones). This is one of the select phones that you can purchase Dbrand skins for as well. Last thing to mention is the superior headphone jack. I seriously love this phone only down side for the TIME is that it wasnt water proof and couldnt wireless charge.

Do not buy this phone. Purchased new in Japan for close to $900. After 1.5 years battery started having critical failures (a common problem for this phone). Replacement phone had errors registering touch near the edge of screen. Next replacement phone had battery issues. Final replacement phone is now well out of warranty and will randomly die at around 45% batter. Look online. Very common issue for this phone. I can't be sure I will make half a day without the phone falling to 0% instantly.
Avoid.

Being unable to update the software can be to blame on multiple things, your network provider might not have pushed out the update. Your region or Country might not have the update available right now. Your phone could be pre-owned or refurbished and using a possible custom ROM preventing it from ever updating. If none of these seem right to you then it could simply be the model number, certain units don't receive all updates from HTC or provided networks, unfortunately.

Ended up using an old Xperia Z5.. Slightly older than htc 10 but no battery issues. Gonna be stuck for a true replacement though as the htc 10 was epic while it worked.

Had to take my htc 10 back to the shop. Luckily when i bought it i got a 24 months warranty. It was switching off at 30%, then 50 then 70. Sometimes it would lose all its charge too. It lost so much value too so maybe its known to have a weak battery. Will miss the audio from that phone especially in the headphones.. It was great for 12 months. Would definitely avoid it now as it sounds like this problem is all too common.

I have ordered new battery from AliExpress, paid around 13$, went to local phone repair store and spend 20$ more for replacing the battery. Phone is perfect since then, with no more shut downs or bootloops. I am really happy i haven't bought a new phone.

Battery has major issues after 2 years. Turns itself off at around 30% although just lately its started emptying itself at 50+%. Would like to know where I can get an official battery replacement as everything else works fine still. A shame that such a great phone will probably end up in the rubbish pile.

The same happened to me and now it has lasted 3 years.
I just stopped using this phone 10 days ago in favor of an LG G7 I got super cheap.
I miss the 10 but my screen is damaged and I haven't had luck in getting a real HQ replacement (been through a few replacements now that don't work properly).
