HTC released Android 2.2 update for ATT. It can be downloaded from HTC's support site under downloads.

If you want your phone to be back with AT&T for some reason, then you can try it. If you want your phone to stay unlocked, then use the Cyanogen Mod and clockworkmod recovery. Just search for it at google. you can also go to unrevoked.com. It will also root your phone giving you ultimate control of your phone.

Quinn, 23 Mar 2011is it also work for other HTC phone type?U may try, these steps are not specifically for Aria, I found it on some HTC forum, So i assume that it is applicable to other HTC phones :)

Also OTA update was added! It is also faster. You should really do it. iused the official upadate from here; http://www.htc.com/us/support/aria-att/downloads#242. Also download the HTC sync to get drivers install on your computer and go here: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Mobile-Phone-Tools/Android-Injector.shtml. This will allow you to install 3rd party apps. Its really easy.

For those of u who think that the battery life of aria is poor,u may try these steps:
1)turn on your phone and charge it for 8 hours
2)unplug the phone, turn it off, then charge for another 1 hour
3)unplug the phone, turn it on, wait for 2 minutes, turn it off again, then charge for another 1 hour
You will have noticeable increased of battery life. Almost doubled. These are the steps suggested by HTC

Phone is great updated it to 2.2 version and can WiFi share and everything, one of the best ATT phones out

Anybody tried the update to 2.2? any good? i updated my xperia x10 mini pro & ended up selling it! The update made it slower and much worse..anyone tried the update on the Aria???

It is excellent for everything, but poor battery life while browse or running internet active in the phone. HTC liberty also known as Aria I unable to internet share with my laptops because internet sharing option not available. However I used third party software for internet sharing. But Low speed.

well.. it does have a nice design, good features but:
-a poor 1200 mAh battery,
-only a 600 mHz processor
-no camera flash.. although you don't need that,
-and a rather small screen, but if your're looking for that.. just GO FOR IT! :D

I've had the HTC Aria for about two weeks, and am already sick of it. When in a call, you can't press it against your ear or else it pushes buttons on the touch screen. Also, if you recieve a text message or email while in the call, it rings as it normally would if you weren't in a call. The volume is also an issue. It seems impossible to change the volume of your calls. I can never hear what people are saying because it is so quiet. I'm sure there are settings to change these problems, but I haven't found them yet. In conclusion, I do not recommend this phone as I am very unhappy with it.
