SFAN, 11 Jan 2011Just to let you guys know. HTC Desire uses 1st gen 1ghz sna... moreYou make it sound like the difference was 100%.

Please. The % difference is not a big bowWow.

True, chip smaller, less power but it's not like you just saved 50% battery. This phone may drain a bit more compared to 2nd gen but it's definitely not by a long shot.
1st Gen 2nd Gen or what not, your phone battery usage % will still drain at about the same rate if you use it extensively. Idling, would have to depend on the phone. bigger screen, power consuming screen and what not, it may not be a difference at all.

Unless there is an IDENTICAL phone (all the same hardware but 2nd gen 1Ghz) then I would then say this phone would consume faster than that. Else = stfu.

Gr8 phone. I got it with Android 2.2 already installed. Had a Galaxy S before this, returned it and got the desire. Battery life sucks, but apart from that very nice to use. The touch UI is smooth and easy to use. Camera quality is decent and also the 720p video recording is not bad. Android 2.2 allows the apps to be installed on the SD card. I wish there was some eay to improve the battery life. I have to carry my charger with me all time. Nevertheless, i just like this phone.

Just to let you guys know. HTC Desire uses 1st gen 1ghz snapdragon processor. It will kill the battery faster than the 2nd gen QSD and MSM processors.

This phone is fast, but not blazing fast. But if you want a nice built-quality phone, go for it.

AMOLED screen with WVGA resolution looks gorgeous.

If you want a decent phone, this is the phone for you.
It may not be the fastest or play the smoothest on games, this phone will be just fine.

Rooting itself doen't invalidate the warranty, this has been discussed on Android Forums and XDA numerous times.

Flashing a new Rom will, however by running the official RUU whilst the phone is attached to a PC restores it to stock and there's no way of telling you had it rooted. So warranty is good again.
