Having problems with galaxy s, mainly signal very poor and no problems identified from provider (o2) for my area. One phone sent off for repair second no better so have been offered an exchange to htc desire. Can anyone advise how they compare? Really love swype on galaxy, want the camera to be Ok too, any advice I would be very grateful as at the end of my tether and dont want to be stuck with a phone I am not happy with for 24mths.

thanks buddy..how much time it will take to download n install over wifi? how much space required on SD card and in internal memory?should i keep it on airplane mode while update? any other tips would be appreciated.

yes the update to froyo is worth it. it adds full flash 10.1 support on the browser,increased browser speed,720p video recording, increased battery performance, better os speed, built in wifi tethering....etc..
so yes its worth it, you should upgrade to 2.2

I bought a Desire 5 months ago and I am very disappointed, because, my phone started to reboot itself when i was on internet or if i was writing a sms and a call comes, the Desire just rebooted itself. So that, my recommendation is NOT to buy this model.

I have been using desire for more than 2 months now. this is my review.
Before getting Desire I hd done lotta research over dis phone,gone through different forums..was a bit concerned over rebooting issue but i finally bought it and i must say its awesome.
UI-Awesome
Speed-Awesome
Camera-Very good
sound quality-good (not as good as sony)
browsing-Awesome( one of d best )
Battery-ok ( 1 day of heavy use..have to recharge evry nite)
till now i havent faced any problem.I havent updated to froyo yet bcoz earlier i have seen some are facing issues after update..but now its tym for update.
