Hello ! I have the htc desire and i have a problem... When i have my phone turned on it says that i can get out my SD memory card.. but i don't want to! So now my apps (installed on the SD) are also not available anymore and i can't check my photo's anymore (because they are also automatically sended to my SD card). Has anybody the same problem? Because i don't know if the problem is in my telephone or that my SD card is broken.. Does anyone have a good advice?? Pls help me whit this because i only have my phone for 5 months now.. :(

the desire has one deadly problem: loss of signal and cannot reconnect (or may reconnect after a long time). This happens in areas with weak signal or when you are moving through zones with weak signal. Search Google and you will see what i'm talking about. It's not entirely the phone's fault but i do expect more from a 600usd product. I love the phone until I noticed this error.

gO TO settings in Desire.. from there select Application.. after that Manage running apps... there u can see what apps are running at the moment and close what ever u like to close!!! its very easy takes few taps and ur memory and battery is free !!!!so far i dont think Task Killer is required for this small purpose. Technically Task killer will also eat some of ur ram !!!!Think about it!!!!

doesn't the HTC Desire also have a NAM version (i.e. 3G on 850/1900 Mhz). Not mentioned in the specs above.

Archibald, 03 Oct 2010The features of this phone are great. The only downsides of... moreinstall a decent task killer app. apps running in the background do use up battery and this can usually DOUBLE the battery life when in use

The features of this phone are great. The only downsides of it are it's battery life (I barely get a day out of it) and how applications can only be installed on the internal memory (it fills up very quickly). The froyo update should fix up the second issue, but it still hasn't been released on Telstra yet. Otherwise, I'm completely happy with the phone.

David, London, UK, 02 Oct 2010Hi guys, I am new HTC Desire owner. I love the phone and do... moreDavid the best way is to transfer your 4GB card to a pc/laptop and then transfer back to the 8GB card.

You can also sort your QWERTY keyboard Problem it is simple

                          1. Press menu
                          2. Settings
                          3. Language & Keyboard
                          4. Select Touch Input
                          5. Select Keyboard types and change to Phone Keypad
                          6. Press the home screen
                          That’s it

Hi guys, I am new HTC Desire owner. I love the phone and don't think she is ugly as my colleagues who have iphone think. I do worry about Android handsets as rumours are that google monitor everything we do with google/Android handsets. Anyway I have a 4 GIG SD card and have now ordered an 8 GIG one from Amazon UK. How do I transfer everything thing on my SD card that came with phone to the phone memory WITHOUT using my PC/Laptop? I have 49.76 MB of available internal phone space left. How would I erase some of the apps in the phone memory like games which I can resintall at a later date. Do you most of you guys have more than 8 GIG memory SD card? I love the phone but hate the fact that SMS is full QWERTY keyboard only. I hope Android 2.3 changes this.

TC, 02 Oct 2010I do not know what apps you are using, but I have moved eve... moreFor business purpose u should go for Black Berry no touchscreen will fullfill that...touchscreens focus on media capabilities... regarding typing i have installed swype which works perfect like samsung galaxy s. sure every Phone has problems... but gaming is the only thing that beats Htc Desire by Samsung Galaxy S....thats it... I own Htc desire. its nice not 100% perfect...even for communication purpose i would prefer nokia they have excellent support for Voip... Iphone also supports good Voip...

Anonymous, 29 Sep 2010That is correct. Even if you move the apps to SD card, ther... moreI do not know what apps you are using, but I have moved everything that can be moved, on Froyo, to the sd-card and I am far from able to install 100+ apps.
The small built in memory is a "dealbreaker" for me but the 3G-connectionproblems is an even bigger fatal "dealbreaker".
I now use Galaxy S as my primary everyday phone, and with xxjpk plus lagfix plus sgs-tools it is the best phone on the market for ME today. Another problem I have with Desire is that when I edit office documents on the phone the onscreen keyboard in landscape-mode covers the text that I am writing, this does not happen when I am using Galaxy S, I do miss the optical trackpad though.

                                        Hello All,
this my personal hands on expreience with HTC desire...
                                        ok first thing's first...
                                        its a peace of beauty...
i bought it 2 days a go and man... its marvelous..
body and weight are ok size is also ok to be fitted in the pocket. its really very slim.
Speed is wonderfull. apps are running smooth ...
although it has small multi touch problem...
i think its multitouch part is ok
but when u start to swype both ur fingers at the same time it will show weird results but i guess that function would only be used in games...
I am currently residing in Saudi Arabia. and was waiting for Galaxy S to be launched. but it didnt.. so went for Desire.. and seriously im not regreting a bit.. Samsung may have more prowerfull Gaming experience and a Super amoled Screen, it dosnt have the HTC SENSE UI.. which is like a dream.
so any1 out there confused which set to use.. please go ahead for htc desire.. it will full fill all ur needs ..... i have htc synch3.0 installed i can download any app on my computer and then install it on my desire anytime i want.. its a wonderfull device..
                                        thx for reading...
                                        bye...
